READING INCENTIVE ASSEMBLY
MONTE VISTA LIBRARY UPDATE
All library books are now due. Please return any library materials ASAP.
The Caldecott and Newbery Club reward assembly is a BMX stunt bike show to be held on Wednesday, May 22 during school. The Caldecott and Newbery Club Ice Cream Social will be held on Friday, May 24 during school lunch. Thank you, PTA, for providing these exciting celebrations for good reading throughout the year!
The annual MV Library Used Book Sale will be held the week of May 28, Tuesday through Friday. Students will visit the library on their regular library day and time to shop for used books. Everything will cost $1. This is a great time to stock up for summer reading! If you have gently used books taking up space on your bookshelves and would like to donate to our used book sale inventory, we would be THRILLED! Please send them to the library between now and May 31. The sooner the better. Thank you!! All proceeds will be used to buy new books.
We welcome any parent volunteers to help on your student’s used book sale shopping day! Thank you for all of your support! Reading makes you SMART!
ATTENDANCE
There are only 12 more days of school. Let’s make them count by making sure that students are at school on time and here every day. Please make sure to leave your house just a couple of minutes earlier to make sure your child is at school on time.
YARD DUTY ASSISTANTS NEEDED
We will be needing some yard duty assistants for the '24-'25 school year. These are paid positions. Some of the positions will be during the school day for 3.5 hours and involve playground supervision. Some of the positions will be before and after school to help with supervision of Monty Lane for 1.5 - 2 hours.
More details about the job and the application are here. Please email Mrs. Babayan (hbabayan@gusd.net) and Mrs. Firstman (jfirstman@gusd.net) if you have any questions or if you are interested.
