It is hard to believe that we recently celebrated the 100th day of school. We are moving through the school year so quickly, and it has been amazing to watch our students flourish and grow.

A paper copy of the Maie Ellis Parent Needs Assessment was sent home with students on February 6. Your answers and suggestions will be used to assess and improve instructional programs, school policies, and procedures. Please take a few minutes to respond via the paper copy. If you have more than one student at MEE, please fill out ONLY one per family and note that on the forms for your other children. That way they also get credit for completing it. Please return the paper copy to your child’s teacher or the office by Thursday, February 13th.

On February 28, we will host our Coffee and Conversation/LCAP Meeting, at 8:30am. We will review the LCAP Goals and information on programs. This is an opportunity for you to provide input on the LCAP goals, as well as future student and parent programs. We hope to see you on February 28.

Just a reminder that there will be no school February 17th-21st due to the President’s Break. We will resume classes on the 24th.

Es difícil de creer que recientemente celebramos el día número 100 de clases. Estamos avanzando muy rápido en el año escolar, y ha sido increíble ver a nuestros estudiantes florecer y crecer.

Se envio a casa con los estudiantes una copia impresa de la Evaluación de Necesidades de los Padres de Maie Ellis. Sus respuestas y sugerencias se utilizarán para evaluar y mejorar los programas de instrucción, las políticas y los procedimientos escolares. Por favor tómese unos minutos para responder a través de la copia impresa. Si tiene más de un estudiante en MEE, complete SÓLO uno por familia pero complete los formularios para sus otros hijos. De esa manera también obtienen crédito por completarlo. Devuelva la copia impresa al maestro de su hijo o a la oficina antes del jueves 13 de febrero.

El 28 de febrero, tendremos nuestra reunión de Café y Conversación/LCAP, a las 8:30 am. Revisaremos las metas del LCAP y la información sobre los programas. Esta es una oportunidad para que usted brinde su opinión sobre nuestras metas LCAP, así como sobre los futuros programas para estudiantes y padres. Esperamos verlos el 28 de febrero.

Por último, solo un recordatorio de que no habrá clases del 17 al 21 de febrero debido al receso del presidente. Regresamos a escuela el día 24 de febrero.

Regular attendance and being at school on time every day, is a key factor in a student’s success in school. Regular attendance also includes arriving to school on time and limiting early pick up. However, your child if presenting with illness symptoms(fever, diarrhea, sore throat, vomiting, etc.) students should stay home.

• If your child is absent from school please send a note with a parent signature or call the attendance line at 760-731-4302; state the student’s name, teacher, absence date, reason for absence, and relation to student.

La asistencia regular y llegar a la escuela a tiempo todos los días es un factor clave en el éxito de un estudiante en la escuela. La asistencia regular también incluye llegar a la escuela a tiempo y limitar la recogida temprana. Sin embargo, si su hijo presenta síntomas de enfermedad (fiebre, diarrea, dolor de garganta, vómitos, etc.), los estudiantes deben quedarse en casa.

• Si su hijo está ausente de la escuela, envíe una nota con la firma de los padres o llame a la línea de asistencia al 760-731-4220; indicar el nombre del estudiante, el maestro, la fecha de ausencia, el motivo de la ausencia y la relación con el estudiante.
