Adult Services Roundtable Planning Meeting
As the OLIS Spring CE session winds down, join us for the Adult Services Roundtable Planning Meeting to discuss next years' continuing education topics, meeting formats & frequency, and potential ways for sharing information between group members/ boosting communication within the group. This meeting will be on Wednesday, June 13 from 2 to 4 at the Kingston Free Library in South Kingstown.
Even if you cannot join, please fill out the Adult Services Roundtable Continuing Education Survey to share your ideas for next years topics before the event.
Summer Reading
It's not too late to get your summer reading program incentive coupons to the South County Museum, the Tomaquag Museum, and the RISD Museum. We are also pleased to announce that we now have the coupons available in Spanish!
Please also take a moment to check the Adult Summer Reading Page to confirm that your program is listed. Email Nicolette Baffoni to get coupons in English and/or Spanish, or to add or remove your program from the summer reading list.
Excite Innovation Grant
The Connecticut State Library is hosting a 2nd Cohort of its EXCITE Transformation for Libraries Innovation Grant. This program is an intensive team-based experiential learning program that will teach collaboration and innovation skills, result in programs that respond to community input and demonstrated needs, lead to cultural change at libraries and sustain project impact through extended training.
Teams of 4 from public, academic and special libraries are welcome to apply. Cohort 2 will meet at the Cranston Library's Central Branch several times for training between September 2018 and February 2019. There are no tuition fees, and scholarships will be awarded to cover travel, lodging and staff coverage for accepted teams.
If you have project coming up in your library that you would like to tackle in an innovative, creative way, learn more about how you and your team can apply. Deadline for applications is June 14.

Workforce Development: new PLA Interest Group + netWORKri Newsletter
The Public Library Association has launched the PLA Workforce Development/Small Business Online Interest Group. Join to share projects, experiences and programs and to get ideas on these topics to bring back to your library!
Locally, if you'd like to know more about the goings-on at our netWORKri Job Centers, contact Lee Ann Johnson from The Workplace to receive weekly updates about job fairs, recruiting events and other happenings at netWORKri centers across the state.
The Great American Read
Many of you are following along with the PBS Great American Read, even using it as a component of your Summer Reading Program (great idea!). PBS has compiled some great resources for participating in this event:
