KEY NEWS FOR EXPLORER FAMILIES
If you want to feel all sorts of thoughtful, positive, happy vibes, Valentine’s Day in an elementary school is the place to find them. Wednesday was a normal school day, but it had the added joy of bright colors sprinkled with messages of kindness. The staff also enjoyed a delicious Valentine's Themed lunch provided by our thoughtful PTA!
Thursday was School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and we have two wonderful officers that support our school. Officer Myrick is our SRO and Officer Leamon is an SRO at another school but supports our morning traffic flow. We are thankful for them regularly, but certainly even more so during this special recognition day.
The annual State of Georgia School Perception Survey windows have now opened. Students in grades 3, 4, & 5 will participate in the survey the week of February 26th. If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please email your child’s homeroom teacher by 3:00 pm Friday, February 23rd.
Parents and guardians are also afforded the opportunity and encouraged to take the survey as well. I have linked the FAQ document; you can find below. Fulton County Schools values feedback from our parents about their experiences with the district. That is why I am encouraging all parents and guardians to take the Annual Parent Perception Survey. This survey allows parents the opportunity to share what they think about the school(s) and the district; it is another opportunity for families to provide feedback to FCS.
Schools are asked to reach a percentage threshold so I will send out additional reminders about the survey opportunity. It is anonymous and confidential. The survey will remain open through Friday, March 15. You can access the link here or by clicking the link below.

PTA REFLECTIONS
So proud of these artists that submitted work for this year's PTA Reflection Contest! The theme was "I am hopeful because," and each artist presented such beautiful pieces!
WORLD READ ALOUD DAY
On February 9th, we celebrated World Read Aloud Day across Fulton County Schools. Throughout the event, students listened to authors read aloud their stories live on Microsoft Teams and actively participated by asking questions. Pictured below are students from Mrs. Piper, Ms. Long, Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Sanders' classes who gathered in the media center for storytelling and popcorn!
ALL PRO DAD - FEBRUARY
We had another great All Pro Dad breakfast last Friday. Families made Valentine's cards and discussed the importance of been gentle.
CLINIC NEWS

As several viral illnesses like the flu and RSV are going around, we would like to remind you to keep your students home if they have symptoms like sore throat, runny nose, cough and congestion, fever and chills, vomiting, and diarrhea. Students may return to school after their symptoms have improved and they have been fever free without medicine for 24 hours. The 24-hour rule also applies to vomiting and diarrhea.
