SPEHS Parent/Caregiver Sunday Call
East Parent/Caregiver May 26, 2024
Greetings East High School scholars, families, and caregivers,
Happy Memorial Day, if you celebrate it. We hope you are enjoying this extended weekend by celebrating with loved ones. We would like to express our gratitude to all of our scholars and families for coming out to support us on Senior Night, AVID Night, and National Honor Society Night, during which we inducted our juniors into this esteemed organization.
The 2023–2024 academic year is almost over. Overdue assignments and assessments had a deadline of last Friday, May 24. Friday, May 31st, is the last day to turn in summative assessments. We strongly advise students to take advantage of their last three WIN days by using them to obtain any assistance they may require to complete their coursework. Additionally, Thursday, May 30, is the final day for fifth-hour assistance. On Thursday, June 6th, final grades are due to admin and registrar. Never hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.
In partnership with the PBIS team, we have organized pinning ceremonies for our ninth, tenth, and eleventh-grade students as well as a community celebration during the second hour of the corresponding day to commemorate the last week of classes. Our ninth-graders will get their "Cardinal, Curt" pins on Monday, June 3rd at 10:08 a.m. in the SPEHS PAC. On Tuesday, June 4th, at 10:08 a.m. in the PAC, tenth-graders who have reached "halfway" status toward graduation will get their pins. Our junior scholars will be pinned by our senior graduates during our senior walk ceremony on Wednesday, June 5th, before they load the bus to visit primary schools. We invite our parents and families to all of these pinning activities.
On June 5th, we will hold a field day for all of our SPEHS students as a final event to cap off our academic year. There are more than sixty activity stations with awards for scholars to participate in, including football and kickball. We will honor our scholars and say goodbye to our seniors during our closing assembly on the last day of school, Friday, June 7th.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the main office and our admin assistants will be able to direct you to the correct admin.
Regards,
Renee Coleman, Principal
Chrissy Mitlyng, Associate Principal
Heidi Walter, Associate Principal
