Reset is Back!
3rd & 4th Grade Opportunity with RESET
What is RESET? It’s a program offered to your 3rd grade students to go off site, to a local church, and through a Biblical Curriculum, learn basic biblical history, principles and tenants of Christianity. The RESET instructional curriculum will provide your children opportunities to learn critical thinking skills which will assist them in making positive choices for their future.
What does RESET look like on a weekly basis for your children? On their school’s chosen day a private transport company bus, that has been approved by Columbus City Schools, will pick your children and some of RESET staff up at their home school and take them to a local church (Briggs Road Baptist for Binns Elementary), just a few blocks away. They will be greeted and escorted into the church and taught a Biblical curriculum, including memory verses and songs, with lots of interaction and prayer. They will then be escorted back onto the bus and ride, with the RESET staff, to their home school and be escorted into their classrooms by the RESET staff. Total time is about 1 hour and no class time is missed.
If your child is interested, please complete the form below. Forms also went home in your students' folder.

Spruce Run
Spruce Run is a 50 acre property near the Hoover Reservoir in Galena, Ohio. The land was deeded to Columbus City Schools in August of 1974 by Robert and Dorothy Patton. The land was deeded to the Columbus City Schools by Robert and Dorothy Patton in August 1974. The Pattons were proud of the wide variety of fauna and flora on the site and were dedicated to keeping the site in its natural form. Their gift is evidence of their desire to share the site and to provide a unique place for environmental studies and outdoor learning. The property is an amazing 50 acres full of nature, a creek, gardens, a working greenhouse, a classroom, a house with an observation deck, nature play spaces, a fire pit, a barn for indoor activities, and more.
Spruce Run is a great place to:
inspire children to write
explore the creek (we have many sizes of rain boots and creeking supplies available)
observe birds on the observation deck (binoculars available)
take nature walks (clipboards and dry-erase markers available)
space for team-building activities
create maps of the area or work on mapping skills
read books or write in the secret outdoor book nook
have students take care of the garden (harvest, pull weeds, plant crops, water plants)
young students can explore the Spruce Nature And Play Area
and is a great place for students to step out of their comfort zone and explore nature
