Weekly Family Communication
The mission of Holy Rosary School is to help each child discover and fully develop their God-given talents. As a Catholic School community, we strive for excellence in our students’ spiritual, academic, physical, mental, aesthetic, and social-emotional growth. It is our intention that those who attend this institution mature into active citizens leading a committed faith life and reaching out to help others locally, nationally, and internationally with their wisdom, time, talent, and financial resources.
Principal's Message
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
I want to thank you for your amazing support during our October Annual Fund drive! Thank you for helping to spread the word far and wide on ways to support our special school. Every donation matters, no matter the dollar amount. Thank you so much for your ongoing consideration, participation, and support. Know that every dollar raised goes directly into our school and supports our teachers and classrooms directly!
This weekend we have our fall marketing open house, Saturday from 9:30 - 11:30 am. If you have friends who are considering Holy Rosary School, please encourage them to come!
Also, one more announcement that the funeral Mass for our friend and longtime facilities manager Scott Stoefen will be November 16th at 11:00 am. All are welcome.
Have a blessed rest of the week!
In Christ,
Anna

Faith At Home
October 18 - Feast day of St. Luke. He is the author of the Gospel of St. Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. He was a physician and an artist. St. Luke was the first to begin painting icons, starting with Mary, Our Lady. Celebrate with your family by : Reading the Gospel of Luke, praying one of the three canticles he wrote: Magnificat, the Beneditus, and the Nunc Dimittis, or cook burgers or steak for dinner since he is the patron saint of butchers.
October 19 - Faith Family Night discussion topic All Saints. After 5pm Mass. All ages are welcome!
October 26 - NW Catholic Women's Retreat at Holy Family Church, Kirkland WA (9am-3pm). Theme of Retreat: Who am I, Lord? Speaker: Nell O'Leary Why Is Life Mostly Boring and Lonely? (feat. Nell O'Leary)
Counselor’s Corner
I hope your October is filled with lots of treats. October is Bullying Prevention Month. As a school we continue to teach our Bullying Prevention Curriculum through Second Step. We are also emphasizing our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) expectation of RESPECT.
A few questions you can ask at home:
What does it mean to be respectful to yourself, others and our school?
How does respect look/sound?
How can you be respectful today?
Please let me know what questions you have (mchoitz@holyrosaryws.org) and thank you for your ongoing partnership.
Care Solace
Holy Rosary School has partnered with an agency called Care Solace to help connect students, their families, and our staff with mental health and counseling services when needed and desired. We recognize how hard it is to find mental health professionals with availability., and we also see the growing need for students and families to access support. Care Solace helps to connect families with the types of services you're looking for, in your area, based on availability and payment method (cash, sliding scale, insurance, etc.). I encourage you to explore their website or connect with Anna Horton or our counselor Megan Choitz to help your family access these services, at no charge to you (to use the Care Solace access services).

Action Items
Hosting a Japanese Exchange Student
Holy Rosary School has the opportunity to join other local Catholic schools to host a Japanese exchange student for one week in March between their academic years, from March 22nd - March 30th. Last year we had three students join, who were hosted by Holy Rosary families. It was a wonderful experience for everyone! The students joining us will likely be in sixth, seventh or eighth grade, and families receive a small stipend to offset the expenses of hosting a student for the week. The students would then attend classes here at Holy Rosary School during the week. If you might be interested in learning more about this opportunity, and possibly hosting a student for the week, please email principal Anna Horton at ahorton@holyrosaryws.org.
Priority Application Window Open
The priority application period for parish members & current school families is September 15th and goes until November 15th for the 2025/2026 school year. If you have a new student who would like to apply to Holy Rosary School, please complete our online application at: https://holyrosaryws.org/applynow/. Re-enrollment occurs in January. Development & Fundraising
Annual Fund
WOW, what a difference a week makes! We are currently at 54% of our goal and just over $81,000 donated in our month-long Annual Fund Fall Drive. Our goal is 100% participation from every family in our school community.
If you want to track the Annual Fund giving and see which family is atop the leaderboard, click here. Also, check out the comments so many amazing things are being said about HRS!Since we are halfway through our month-long drive, I wanted to announce a very GENEROUS MATCH by a current HRS family. If we receive $25,000 in new donations by the time the efc is sent next week (10/24 @ 11am), the family will match with $25,000 additional dollars!
EVERY DOLLAR RAISED OVER THE NEXT WEEK WILL BE DOUBLED!
