MCP: 36th Street Family Newsletter
Week of March 18, 2024
We hope this message finds you well. As we continue our journey together in nurturing and guiding our scholars, we would like to emphasize the critical importance of open communication and maintaining high expectations for their success.
At MCP, we firmly believe that a strong partnership between parents, educators, and students is the cornerstone of academic achievement and personal growth. Open communication channels foster trust, understanding, and collaboration, ensuring that we can work together effectively to support your child's development.
By keeping the lines of communication open, we can address any concerns or challenges your child may be facing promptly and effectively. Whether it's academic struggles, social issues, or personal hurdles, your insights and feedback are invaluable in helping us tailor our support to meet your child's unique needs.
Additionally, maintaining high expectations for our scholars is fundamental to their growth and success. When students are challenged to excel, they rise to the occasion and exceed even their own expectations. By setting ambitious goals and providing the necessary support and encouragement, we empower our scholars to reach their full potential and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We want every child at MCP to succeed, and we are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where they can flourish. Your partnership in this endeavor is indispensable, and we encourage you to actively engage with us in your child's educational journey.
Please feel free to reach out to us at any time with your questions, concerns, or feedback. Together, we can ensure that every scholar reaches new heights of achievement and fulfillment.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.

Forward Testing
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Wisconsin Students in Grades 3rd-8th will be participating in the Forward assessment during the March 18th - April 26th testing window.
The Forward assessment tests students in the areas of Mathematics and English Language Arts. In addition, 4th and 8th graders will be assessed in Social Studies and Science. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Here is an Informational Brochure for Families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.
The Forward assessment measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations or placement in classes to best support your child(ren).
