Welcome Back to School, Dear Families!

We are thrilled to welcome you back to another exciting school year at Collett Elementary! Whether you are returning or new to our community, we are delighted to have you with us. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare for a year filled with learning, growth, and wonderful experiences.

First day of school for our Cougars is Wednesday, August 7, 2024! Please remember that our school day begins promptly at 8:40 am. Maximizing on every possible minute of the day is key to academic improvement!

On the first days of school, we encourage all parents and guardians to walk their child to their respective classrooms. We understand that the first day of school is a significant milestone, not just for your child but also for you. Walking your child to class will allow them to feel supported and secure as they begin this new chapter in their educational journey. We kindly request that you arrive a few minutes early on the first day to help your child settle into their new surroundings. Our staff will be available to assist you and your child with any questions or concerns you may have. To ensure a smooth transition for all students, we kindly request that parents say their goodbyes promptly to allow teachers to begin their class routines.

Please remember to bring the following items on the first day of school:

• A backpack with your child's name clearly marked on it.

• A healthy snack and water bottle (Please ensure the snack is nut-free).

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to ensure that our pick-up process is as smooth and efficient as possible for everyone involved. To achieve this, we kindly request your cooperation in discussing and finalizing your child’s pick-up arrangements with your student.

Communication: If there are any last-minute changes to your pick-up plans, please notify the school office as soon as possible. Clear communication helps us ensure that your child is picked up safely and by the right person.

A theme provides a unity for the entire school community. A theme can bring together students, teachers, and staff around a common goal or idea, fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork. Themes can help in building and reinforcing a positive school culture and identity, reflecting the values and mission of the school. A school-wide theme can extend beyond the school, involving parents, local businesses, and community organizations in related activities and events.

Alvord USD Child Nutrition Services will not require families to fill out a Meal Application for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Families are encouraged to complete the Alternate Income Survey in Aeries until September 2nd. After September 2nd, parents will need to fill out the Alternate Income Survey located on www.ausdnutrition.org under Meal Application.
