Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week. We are in search of volunteers who can help at the book fair, along with volunteers and donations for the staff dinners! Information and sign-ups are below. We so appreciate you!

· TODAY! Wednesday, November 6th, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM in the Computer Lab (parents need to check in at the front office before heading to the meeting for a name tag - drivers license/ID is required)

· PTA Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month

· ALL parents are welcome to attend any PTA meeting. Younger siblings are welcome, and parents are welcome to show up after 9AM if preschool drop-offs or other schedule needs make it hard to be there right at 9AM. We would love to have you!

One of the ways our Panther community supports our staff and teachers is by providing dinner during Parent/Teacher Conferences. PTA sponsors the purchase of the main meal from a local restaurant, but we need your help rounding out the meal. There are still a couple donation spots available along with openings to help setting up & cleaning up on conference days. Please sign up below if you are available to help!

Wednesday, November 13 & Thursday, November 14

· Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers – AND, as always, every book they buy earns rewards for our school.

· The book fair will take place in the Pierce Media Center from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm (with a break from 4:00 pm– 5:00 pm) on November 13 and 14 during Parent/Teacher Conferences.

· Volunteers are needed to help during the book fair with purchases & assisting families in locating books. We also need help setting up the book fair on November 4, and taking it down on November 15. If you are able to help, please sign up below.

The PTA is excited to support our staff by funding staff requested grants this year! We are looking for additional people to join the PTA Grant Committee, which will review the grant applications submitted by our staff. This involves reviewing the grant applications individually and meeting as a committee once during the first week of December.

The Pierce teacher's lounge is a special room where teachers go to take a break and relax. Sometimes, the teacher lounge runs out of things that teachers need. So, we need to get more supplies to make sure the teachers have everything they need to be happy and comfortable in their lounge!! We have officially set our meeting dates for the first book club discussion of The Anxious Generation. Please fill out the sign up genius below if you plan to attend! We will finalize the location of our meetings once we have a confirmed number of attendees. No need to have read the book in its entirety or at all if this topic just interests you! RECOGNITION WITHIN THE SCHOOL

Certificates for participation and prizes for top honors; - Awards celebration with Mrs. Trudel and members of the PTA; - Only the artwork will move on; travel is not required for the competitions.

PIERCE PTA CELEBRATION

Pierce PTA will host a Pierce Reflections Recognition event for all students who submit an entry.

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a PTA sponsored program to drive reading and reading comprehension for grades 2-5. Our 2nd Harvest for this school year closes on Tuesday, December 10, at noon. Students MUST have earned ONE point during every harvest this year in order to be eligible for the end-of-the-year AR party.

For anyone who has achieved the ‘purple star’, please send in a picture no bigger than 4 x 6 to the office so we can hang it up on the AR Celebration Board outside the Pierce Library!

Also, note that AR T-shirts are available for purchase on Membership Toolkit. Once you have received notice that your child has reached that level, you can go on to MTK to purchase that. Please send us your photos for the opportunity to be in the yearbook! We need your pictures from Back to School, Carnival, Fun Run, Centennial Celebration, Trunk or Treat and other in-school events. Send photos to PierceElementaryYearbook@gmail.com to be considered.

One of our biggest needs each year is daily help in our school library. Before you volunteer in the library, we ask that you attend a 25 minute training session. Once you are trained, you'll be sent the Sign Up Genius to sign up for slots. There are 5 open slots/school day (2 in the morning, 1 midday, 2 in the afternoon) and you are welcome to sign up for as many or few as fit your schedule.

Currently, we have training sessions scheduled on select Thursdays. No need to sign up ahead of time, please just check in at the office & head to the library that morning. Training dates are scheduled as follows. Please reach out to pierceelementarypta@gmail.com if you have any questions.
