We finally got the sunshine we were hoping for!

This week, we welcomed back Rev Paulie who led an animal themed worship on Thursday. The children are getting into the Harvest spirit and I’m sure will be singing some of the catchy songs they have been practicing over the weekend. Cauliflowers fluffy anyone?

The Friends of Kirk Fenton held their AGM on Wednesday evening. There are some exciting events in the pipeline and it would be great to see some more new members. Please don’t be put off by thinking it is an enormous job, school are here to support you as much as we can. Previous funding is going to equip us with some amazing storage and equipment for our outdoor play and learning so it really is a valuable asset for the children.

Mrs Wolterman spoke to the whole school this week about the National Day of Languages and with the introduction of our new programme for French – Language Angels. It has been wonderful to hear the children saying “Bonjour” and “Au revoir” as they greet each other in the corridors!

Next week there will be some Trust work happening in school. All schools have worked together to create a new writing strategy. Staff from the trust will be coming to see this in action at our school and Mrs Bembridge will be doing the same to other schools in the trust. This is just one of the many ways that being part of a Multi Academy Trust supports our staff and pupils.

We’ve had another exciting week in school. There has been some excellent learning happening in all the classrooms. We have celebrated National Poetry Day and National Day of Languages. Some children enjoyed reading their poems to the Headteacher.

Well done to everyone who has worked on Numbots or TTR at home. The raffle ticket boxes were very full this week! Our lucky raffle winners were Holly S-W and Cody T. This week's Numbots Superstars are Fleur D, Cecily C, Isla H, Maisie A, Harry B and Sienna H. Our Rockstars of the Week are Samantha D, Zion P, Annabella G, Bea O, Jaxon M and Tom O. Well done everyone.

Well done to Goodall class for having the tidiest cloakroom this week.

Thank you to Finnbar (Y4), Arthur (Y3), Lizzie (Y4) and Evelyn (YR) for helping us all to enjoy our lunchtime in the dinner hall.

This week's champions are the Orange Spitfires for the second week running. Congratulations to Skyla and Harry and their team.

We are still in need of some old carpet remnants or other suitable materials for covering the beds. If you do have any spare, please would you drop them in to the school office.
