Our Week at Reutter School
Week of December 19, 2022
Principal's Message
Reutter School Families:
As we head into the winter holiday break, our school is developing an uplifting environment such as the creation of colorful hallway and door designs, holding our annual sixth grade winter dance, caroling around the building during enrichment period, and the hosting of the annual winter music concert. We look forward to continuing many of our holiday traditions next week with the annual winter holiday school-wide celebration and our homeroom holiday parties.
A special "thank you" to our PTO and parent volunteers on their assistance with several events this month. Your help with the sixth grade dance, holiday shop, and homeroom parties is greatly appreciated.
Today, in accordance with state law, our school conducted a security drill in the manner that we conduct all emergency drills, with seriousness and with sensitivity to our students and staff. Everyone responded appropriately and instruction resumed immediately thereafter. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
Parents will be receiving copies of their child's Start Strong scores through the district's Curriculum and Instruction Office. The Start Strong is the state-mandated assessment that CLR student were administered as a baseline measure of academic knowledge in September 2022. Please feel free to contact your child's Math or ELA teacher if you have any questions pertaining to your child's Start Strong Assessment results.
A reminder to please return the family life permission slips by Wednesday, December 21 indicating whether or not they would like their child to participate in the family life classes. Additional information pertaining to our family life classes and copies of the permission slip are included in the weekly update.
I hope that all CLR families have a great holiday season and a wonderful start to the new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Mr. Peters
Principal
A Message From The School Counselor, Mrs. Roberts
‘Tis the Season
The students and staff here at Reutter have had a busy couple of weeks spreading holiday cheer! From decorating homeroom doors and caroling outside of classroom windows, to planning our holiday spirit week and celebrations, there is lots of holiday spirit in the air. As we enjoy this special time, we also remember what the holiday season is all about. Last month’s Thanksgiving Food Drive was a huge success. Thanks to our generous donations, and counselor helper’s hard work, we were able to provide numerous meals to families in need within our community. This month, our Holiday Toy Drive is under way to help in making all of our family’s holidays merry and bright. Many of our students have also been creating holiday cards for a local nursing home. We appreciate all of the support from our Reutter family to ensure that this truly is the most wonderful time of the year for all!
A Message From The School Nurse, Mrs. Zorzi
Dear Parents,
Our mission is to stay healthy and keep our students in school as often as possible. Unfortunately, this is the season of cold and flu which may alter many of our plans. I have included an informational guide that may assist you in answering some of the questions regarding your child’s illness this holiday season.
Please review and like always, do not hesitate to contact your child’s pediatrician with the signs and symptoms of illness.
Have a very Happy Holiday Season!
Mrs. Zorzi, RN, CSN
