Unlocking the Possibilities!!!
Dear Friends,
Happy Summer! I'm back! It's been a hot minute since my last Newsletter. This past month has been filled with new opportunities for my little business, distracting me in good ways from my monthly newsletter and blog. It's been nice and a little exciting to have so many new moments of connection and support with schools and families. Having so many opportunities to connect with and serve the clients I work with is a privilege.
In this issue, we are embracing the joy of the summer season and all it has to offer with a plethora of fun activities for the young and young at heart. I've compiled a list of affordable yet thrilling summer activities and shared ideas for healthy hydration to curb sugar and other junk food cravings. Additionally, I've provided a link to my latest blog, a guide on how to help children manage and regulate their emotions and behaviors during the less structured summertime.
Let's dive into the pool with a big splash of fun, fire up the backyard BBQs, enjoy late-night movies, get lost in a good summer mystery novel, and all the other things this season of life offers. It's our time to connect, correct, and reorganize our priorities to include the simple, easy things summer has to offer.
With A Grateful Heart,

Helping Kids Learn To Regulate Their Own Emotions and Behavior This Summer
Although summer can bring sunshine and smiles, it can also be challenging for children who struggle to regulate emotions and behavior. Unstructured time and relaxed routines can sometimes recharge the family battery. However, these unstructured moments can fuel fires easily ignited by sassy behaviors, loud outbursts, and ugly moods, which, for some families raising neurodiverse children, can be hard to recover from. Check out my new blog for easy strategies that help kids channel impulsive behaviors and emotional meltdowns this summer.
Skills For Success
Easy Summer Fun Ideas
Summer fun doesn't have to be expensive or complicated. Create moments of connection this summer by trying a few of these fun ideas and activities.
- Plan a picnic with a theme like the beach, baseball, or a safari.
- Organize a neighborhood Olympic Games event with an obstacle course, relay races, a dance party, and awards.
- Have an outdoor movie night with their costumes and snacks.
- Create a cooking/baking show, record and share it with family and friends.
- Map out a long bike ride, take snacks, and plan to stop at a local park or lake.
- Visit a Farmer’s Market.
- Host a Lemonade stand and donate the profit to a local charity.
- Wash the car as a family in the driveway.
- Make a list of DIY crafts you’d like to make. Clean out closets and bedrooms, looking for items to help with the craft ideas.
- Host a board game tournament for your neighborhood or family.
- Go on a nature walk and take photos. Print and document your findings in a fun, creative way.
- Organize morning Yoga for your family or neighbors in your backyard.
- Make a list of your favorite ice cream flavors, and try to make one new flavor a week. Share the recipes that you like with family and friends.
- Set a summer goal, such as learning a new language, knitting, or learning to make sourdough bread. Keep a journal of effort in learning the new skills, and document your reflections along the way.
- Make time each day to play simple games like frisbee, hopscotch, UNO, or roller skating. Keep things simple but active.
