From the Abernethy Office

Tomorrow is one of those days that we have waited all year for!

FIELD DAY!

It is going to be a SUPER fun Field Day!

Here are some things that you will need to know.

• All volunteers will need to check in with the office prior to volunteering
• All students, K-5, will be experienceing Field Day at the same time (9:15 - 11:15)
• Students will be paired up with their Buddy Class and as a pair, or even in threes, they will work their way through all activities from 9:15am to 11:15am.
• Lunches and recesses will remain at the same times.
• K-1 Lunch/Recess - 11:20 - 12:05
• 2-3 Lunch/Recess - 11:50 - 12:25
• 4-4 Recess/Lunch - 11:50 - 12:25
• There will be a bucket dumping activity - a HUGE favorite for majority of the students - Students WILL get wet if they participate in this activity.
• We will NOT be calling home for changes of clothes and we are NOT encouraging changing of clothes throughout the day. Please let your student know this. There is a lot of fun to be had but we can not accomidate coordinating and changing clothes.
• There is a special "secret" activity in the afernoon! All classes have been assigned a time to experience it. I can't wait to see the faces of the students when they see it!!!
• Throughout Field Day, there will be a quiet room in the auditorium for any student who feels that they need a quiet break.
• Appropriate student behavior, that follows Abernethy expectations - being safe, respectful and responsible - will be enforced. We want all our students to have fun! We also know all the hard work that went into putting this event together and we aopreciate all the volunteers helping make the day happen!
