Our Pre-UIL Concert is Thursday, April 2 at 6:30 PM. Join us for our Pre-UIL Concert in the KHS Auditorium! This is a mandatory event for all choir members and will count as an exam grade for Quarter 4. Students should wear the formal choir uniform. Please see the call times below:

• Chorale: 5:30 PM on stage
• Cantus: 6:00 PM in choir room
• Bella Voce: 6:00 PM in choir room
• Liederkranz: 6:00 PM in choir room

Our choirs have been working incredibly hard over the past few months to prepare for the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, taking place April 9-12. The finalized performance times for all six Klein High Choirs are below.

Wednesday, April 9 (Willis HS)

• Bella Voce: 1:00–2:00 PM (Concert at 1:20 PM)

• Cantus: 2:20-3:20 PM (Concert at 2:40 PM)

Thursday, April 10 (Klein Cain HS)

• Liederkranz: 3:00-4:00 PM (Concert at 3:20 PM)

• Chorale: 4:00-5:00 PM (Concert at 4:20 PM)

Friday, April 11 (Klein Cain HS)

• Varsity TB: 8:40–9:40 AM (Concert at 9:00 AM)

• Varsity SA: 10:40–11:40 AM (Concert at 11:00 AM

Next week, we plan to share more details and provide itineraries for each ensemble. Transportation will be provided to and from UIL back to KHS. These contests are free and open to the public—we would love to see our Klein High Choir families there, cheering on our hardworking singers!

A reminder that UIL is a mandatory, graded event for all students.

Chorale will compete at the Celebration of Excellence contest on Monday, April 14 at The Centrum. Below is an information letter for all Chorale students and parents to review.

Chorale will be on a field trip from 2nd to 7th period on April 14. Students will need to complete a Google form (linked in the info sheet) to confirm their attendance for the award ceremony later that day. Additionally, a permission form was distributed to students last week and is due by Friday, April 4.

As you finalize course selections for next year, here’s some important choir info. In Skyward, select CHORAL MUSIC followed by your total years in high school choir. For example, if this is your first year, you’re in CHORAL MUSIC 1, so sign up for CHORAL MUSIC 2 next year. If you chose the wrong course, no worries—we can work with counselors to correct it for 2025-2026.

If you plan to audition for Chamber Choir, please sign up for VOCAL ENSEMBLE in Skyward. Auditions will be held in April, and counselors can enroll you in the course now via email if you have not done so. If you make the ensemble, you're all set! If not, you’ll need to work with your counselor in May to select a backup course or elective.

After UIL, we move forward with Pop Show! This includes solo/small group auditions. Auditions for solo and small group performances will be held after school on April 22 and 23. There is no set theme for this year’s show, so start brainstorming a song to bring energy and entertainment to our Pop Show on Thursday, May 6!

Audition details will be posted in class and on Schoology during the week of April 14-18.

Our Booster Club awards scholarships to choir seniors as they conclude their high school journey. These scholarships, presented at the Choir Banquet, require an application. All materials will be available on Schoology starting Monday, April 21, and are due by Friday, May 2.

Seniors pursuing a fine arts major in college are invited to participate in the Klein ISD Fine Arts Signing Day! This event will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at 6:00 PM at the Klein Multipurpose Center. Each student will have a designated table to decorate, showcasing their future plans in fine arts.
