Badger Middle School Newsletter
October 31st, 2024
Principal's Welcome
Hello Badger Middle School Students and Families,
Hard to believe we are ending the 2nd month of school. Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks feel just around the corner!
Our students continue to demonstrate that they are responsible, respectful, safe, and ready. In fact, we have an end of quarter assembly (with an assembly schedule) on November 8th to celebrate our hard work. In the next newsletter, and on Facebook, look for highlights of our Badger Pride incentive- students could earn the opportunity to smash pumpkins Friday, November 1st, during lunch by demonstrating the expected behaviors.
It's been a fast fall, with fun activities such as homecoming and Halloween (Shout out to Mrs. Bracey's class-see photo- and all our students who participated in the Halloween costume contest!) Looking forward to more celebrating ahead.
Thank you so much for the continued support and feel free to reach out to me any time.
Sincerely,
Patrick O'Connor
Principal

Students of the Week
Congrats to our most recent Students of the Week.
Students are selected based on their contributions to the school, excellence in the classroom, and their positive impact on others. Each week, 6 staff members are chosen at random to nominate a student who shows these qualities.
With great students like these in our hallways, the future is looking bright!
Staff of the Week
Staff of the Week are nominated by students or staff. See the most recent staff of the week below.
We are proud of our hardworking, caring staff!

Focus Updates
At the beginning of the year, I explained that we are focused on improving reading and math proficiency as data indicates those are drivers for our students’ success.
Action steps include continued writing about non-fiction reading across the curriculum strategies. Math teachers are working with Math coaches to continue to refine their craft. Behaviorally, we are focusing on behaviors in the "Be Respectul" category of our behavior expectations. These include behaviors such as disrespectful, disruptive, or insubordinate behavior and inappropriate language. Action steps include targeted resource lessons and specific strategies implemented with students who need support in this area.
We also have Staff Goal teams focused on helping us achieve our goals around these areas of focus.
You can help by continuing to encourage students to: do their best, grow daily, and be responsible, respectful, safe and ready to learn daily is all we ask as partners in education.
No School
There is no school in the West Bend School District November 27th, 28th, and 29th.
