Message from the Principal
Dear WGIS Families,
Today, WGIS raised over $970 for Pediatric Cancer Research today that will be donated through Paige's Pajamarama! Students were able to wear pajamas AND make a difference in the lives of other kids and families dealing with pediatric cancer. I could not be more proud of our students for their donations and willingness to help others. What a great way to celebrate a season of giving!
We have 7 more days of class before we are all able to spend some extra time with family and friends. Please consider donating books from home to our WGIS Book Swap and if able, donate unopened boxes of cereal for our Student Council cereal drive. We have many opportunities to give this season but I also want to acknowledge that many families are not able to - and that is OK. Please, do what you can but always know that we are here to support all students and families. If you need anything, please reach out to us so we can offer any assistance we have available.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership with our school to make sure all of our students find success at WGIS. We are having a great school year and are looking forward to a great November!
Be Kind-Work Hard-Think BIG!
It's a great day to be a wildcat!

Cereal Drive for WGIS Student Council
Student Council is having a Cereal Drive. Please send in unopened boxes of cereal to donate to local food pantries for those in need. Did you know that cereal is one of the most sought after items but also one of the least donated? Our drive will run up until Thanksgiving Break (11/26/24)
Book Swap
We are preparing for our annual book swap. This event occurs in the spring and is quite popular with our students. If you have any books (appropriate for students 9-12 years old) that you are done with, you can send them in with your student or drop them off at the main office. We also collect adult books and keep those separate for the teachers and staff. We need about 2000 books to ensure this event is a success!
3:15 Bus home for students participating in clubs.

Our WGIS Spelling Bee finalists are moving on to compete in the final round of the WGCSD Spelling Bee! These students placed in the top 10 for the entire school and will represent WGIS at CMS on November 20th. Good luck Wildcats!
Positivity Paws & SEL @WGIS
This year, we will be using Second Step to promote positive character traits in our students here at WGIS. Each week, we will focus on a new character trait. Students who exemplify the character trait of the week will have an opportunity to be recognized on the Friday announcements and be featured in our weekly e-news.
This week, we recognized students that showed supporting others throughout the school day. Next week, we will focus on gratitude. We will be on the lookout for students showing support for others as they go throughout their school day.
Positivity Paw Winners
This week, we recognized students who showed support for others throughout the week. Congratulations to Catalaya, Aiden, Jenna, and Roderick, our Positivity Paw winners !
Themed Fridays
Our student council will be putting on a "Themed Friday" each Friday. This past Friday, we supported Paige's Pajamorama which raises money for pediatric cancer research. Students all mde small donations in order to wear PJ's to school!
Next Friday (11/22) student council asks that everyone wear mismatched clothes.
Safety at WGIS
It's cold outside!
A reminder that students will still be going outside as the weather turns colder and throughout the winter. Students will need warm clothing/coats for their outside time so please continue to send students in with warm clothing.

Amazon Wishlists
Each year, we invite the teachers to submit an Amazon Wishlist that will be shared with the school community. These items are used to support and enhance instruction for our children throughout the year. The teachers and staff are so appreciative of the support. This is a way to show our gratitude for their efforts each day with our children. The links to the wishlists can be found here: https://2cde.edulnk.com/e/3z0w8/k8Kfdj?__$u__
