Greetings from Mrs. G!
April 19, 2024
Dear Berlin Families and Caregivers,
I hope that this message finds you well. A quick reminder that we will not have school the week of April 22-26. We hope that this period of rest for students provides an opportunity to take a quick break from the regular routine and be ready for the last month and a half of school. The last student day will be a half day on the 18th of June.
Our school community has recently engaged in some exciting work with the BLAAMM (Black, Latino, Asian and many more) group from U-32. We had a group of students join our 5th/6th graders and ran some skits and asked students for feedback. Following the skits/chat the students were able to ask questions and learn more about groups and extracurriculars at U-32.
We are excited to welcome the GLAMM (Gay, Lesbian and many more) group from U-32 in the middle of May to engage in a similar presentation to students and staff. The GLAMM group will be meeting with 3-6th graders. Students will work in conjunction with our School Counselors to brainstorm questions. We are looking forward to the skits they will run for us and the conversations that we will engage in.
The goal of these meetings is to provide an opportunity for students to ask questions of older peers and to gain a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of historically marginalized populations.
In a huge celebration our 3-6th graders have completed the VTCAP testing for the state of Vermont. The whole school team worked hard to ensure that every student completed their assessments prior to break.
This spring we will be looking forward to some exciting school wide celebrations. Stay tuned for additional information.
Wishing you wellness, rest and good family time.
Be Well,
Celia Guggemos
