As we continue to soak up the warmth of the season, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share how much we are looking forward to welcoming your children back to Thomas Jefferson Middle School this fall. I am extremely excited to join the TJMS community! This is my fourteenth year in education, I received my Bachelor's degree from Illinois State University. I received my Masters degrees from Concordia and Northern Illinois Universities in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on English as a Second Language and Educational Administration. Prior to joining Palatine CCSD 15, I taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, and was an Instructional Coach, in Wheeling CCSD 21. This is my fifth year as an Assistant Principal in Palatine CCSD 15. Prior to joining TJMS, I was the Assistant Principal at Lake Louise and Pleasant Hill. I look forward to working with the students, families, staff, and community of Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Hi TJ Community- I am very excited to be joining the TJMS community at such a great time. I am starting my 26th year of working in education and all of those years have been at the middle school level. I was previously an 8th grade history teacher, middle school assistant principal, and coordinator of student services in Carol Stream and West Chicago. I love working with middle schoolers and the energy that they bring each and every day. I am committed to helping them grow and be the best versions of themselves. Outside of school, I live in East Dundee. I enjoy all types of outdoor activities such as biking, paddleboarding, running, playing pickleball, and dog walking. I truly look forward to meeting our students and families and can't wait for the year ahead!

Welcome to TJMS PTSA. We are working hard to set up this year to be filled with fun that will be inclusive for all students who are coming to TJMS. With this being the inaugural year for TJMS, we have a rare opportunity to create this organization to be what we want it to be.

Please JOIN US as we begin making those impactful decisions with our student body in mind. If you are looking to get involved, there are many areas where we could use some parental help. A couple of open committees are; New Student Welcome, Membership, Restaurant Nights, 8th Grade events, Teacher Appreciation Week, WOW day (aka career day), Ways and Means (Aka Fundraising), and any other ideas that you may have to make this the best school in the district. We are open to any new idea, and anxious to start this year off strong with building community, and creating new traditions together.
