The PTO hopes to see you at their next meeting in January:

CogAT Scores for 3rd and 5th Grade Students coming home in backpacks today!
If your student in is 3rd or 5th grade, they recently took the CogAT assessment. A paper copy of their scores is coming home in their backpacks today. (Monday 12/16).
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is administered yearly in grades 3 and 5. Its purpose is to assess students' abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal (spatial) symbols.
It is not an achievement test: scores may be used to adapt instruction and programs to the needs and abilities of students.
Outdoor Recess and Snow Gear
As a reminder, we will have outdoor recess whenever the windchill is above 0 degrees. Be sure your child is coming to school with cold weather gear including hats, gloves. When there is snow on the ground, only students wearing boots will be permitted to play in the snow.
A FEW REMINDERS FROM THE OFFICE
As we approach the colder months, we’d like to remind you of a few important things to help keep our school days running smoothly:
Keep Your Contact Information Up to Date
It’s essential that we have accurate and current contact information for both parents/guardians as well as emergency contacts. This ensures we can reach you quickly if the nurse needs to notify you of an illness or injury or if the office needs to confirm who will be picking up your child. Please take a moment to double-check your phone numbers and emergency contacts.Reporting Absences
If your child will be absent, don’t forget to call our attendance line (331) 228-3300 and provide the reason for their absence. Be specific—whether it’s due to illness (e.g., fever or vomiting), an appointment, or travel plans. If a reason isn’t listed when you call in, you will receive a follow-up call to confirm the absence. When to Return After Illness
If your child becomes ill at school or home, please remember they must be fever-free, vomiting-free, and diarrhea-free for 24 hours before returning to school. This helps keep all our students healthy and minimizes the spread of illness.Label Your Child’s Belongings
Coats, snow pants, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other personal items can easily get misplaced. To ensure they return home, please label everything with your child’s name. If you’re missing anything, check our Lost and Found—it’s overflowing with unclaimed items!Extra Clothes for Emergencies
For our youngest learners and even our older students, having an extra set of clothes at school can be a lifesaver. Wet slides, spills, or messy play can happen, and having dry clothes ready to go helps keep your child comfortable and focused on learning. The nurse’s office has a small supply of clothing, but sizes are limited.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a caring and organized school environment. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to the office.
Warm regards,
The Anderson Elementary Team
