The Allen ISD Board recently recognized Macie Krenek and Carly Drake from the Allen Eagles Competitive Shooting Team!

Macie earned medals at Nationals, placing third in Sporting Clays and fourth in Skeet.

Carly won third in Trap at State & fourth in Skeet at Nationals.

Matthew McCoy, a senior at Allen High School, was recently selected as one of 28 cadets nationwide to participate in an eight-week Naval STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Flight Academy program. McCoy successfully earned his private pilot license, becoming the fourth Allen High School student to complete this program. McCoy serves as the Cadet Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (MCJROTC) at Allen High School. He is also a member of the Varsity Swim Team, the National Honor Society, and Scout Troop 624 in Allen, where he is an Eagle Scout.

Congressman Keith Self is hosting a Service Academies Information Forum Sept. 14 at 9:30 AM to learn about the application and nomination process. Representatives from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the other federal service academies will be there to answer questions.
