Quote of the week
"You must never be fearful about what you are doing if it is right" -Rosa Parks
From Mr. Wingfield
I want to congratulate our Girls 7th grade and both boys basketball teams on beating Burton on Monday. We also hosted our district UIL Academic meet and our kids did an excellent job. The final results a re not in, but looking at the preliminary results it looks like we did very well. The final results will be in hopefully tomorrow so I will update this when they are in.
The same day we held the UIL meet we had a couple of groups of kids that helped clean up our NISD facilities. After the construction there were a lot of areas with trash and other materials. In all we walked 15,000 steps and filled 32 bags of trash. So proud of our kids and thankful for them taking pride in what we have here at Normangee!
Good luck to all of our students that will be competing in the All-Region Band Auditions!! We have several 7th and 8th graders that will be competing on Friday.
Remember that we have our 1st Annual City of Normangee Christmas Parade on Saturday at noon. Our MS basketball teams, band, and cheerleaders will be participating so hopefully you can come out and support them. There is a chance of rain, but still a high of 70 degrees with sun in the afternoon.
A Reminder that next week is the last week of school before Christmas Break and it is still very important that students are in attendance every day. Friday will be an early release day and students will be let out at 12:30.
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.
Jared Wingfield

A huge shout out to our Health and Nutrition team as they continue to improve lunch and breakfast options for our students. They work hard every day to make sure they serve 100's of kids 2 times a day. Thanks for all you do!!

From the Bus Barn-New Bus Management System
The Transportation Department is in the process of changing over a new Bus Management System called Bus Right. This system will enhance student safety, streamline bus communication, and manage routes at the touch of a button. A GPS system will track the bus on it's route and provide real time information to parents, administrators and route drivers. Parents will have peace of mind receiving drop off and pick up information before and after school. The system should be online soon. In the meantime, below is the information needed to download the app. Once you set it up on your phone, the app will automatically start giving you information when the transportation department has it up and running. We will let you know when that happens.
