We hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
Here are some reminders and appreciation for our last week of school before Winter Break!
- Student Dress Up Days for the holidays are Dec. 13-19 and are listed below in the December calendar.
We are down to 4 instructional days until Christmas Break and our Stallions are wrapping up the 2nd nine weeks of school. We suggest that you check in with your student and ensure that they have no missing assignments that could impact their report card grades for the 2nd nine weeks.
Holiday Celebrations will be on Thursday, December 19. The link for pre-check in is below. Please do not check out your Stallion before 10:00 am after holiday parties. We want them to be counted present for the day. Thank you for your help. Teachers will have sign out sheets in their classrooms for visitors on Thursday.
Kudos to our 1st grade and Kindergarten students for a lovely holiday performance. We look forward to more family events in the spring semester.
Thank you for your support during this first semester. When students return on January 7, 2025, we will be ready to continue learning and growing at Sunfield. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Lunch Guidelines and Expectations
As the year continues, please note that we encourage parents to allow students to eat with their peers when possible, saving lunch with students for special occasions.
The social skills and interactions that happen during lunch help students learn important social skills that are crucial to their developmental success.
Please note that students eating with families will be asked to eat on the stage area and families may not invite other friends to join them during lunch.
District policy prohibits any parents from dropping off meals in the front office from outside restaurants. This policy includes parents bringing food from a restaurant to drop off at the front desk.
If you are bringing a student a forgotten lunch box or dropping off lunch, please do so at least 30 minutes prior to student lunch times. We will call students down to get their lunches.
Our front office staff is usually very busy during lunch time and depending on the day, they may not be able to bring a lunch down to the cafeteria right at the start of student lunches.
Please note that for special campus events such as Grandparents' lunch and Thanksgiving Lunch we allow families to eat in the cafe and adjustments to lunch schedules are made in order to accommodate our increase in people using the cafe.

Counselor Connection
Gift of Generosity-Parent Information & Ideas
Research has shown that generosity releases happiness endorphins, reduces stress, helps us sleep and even extends our life! Below are ways to show generosity.
Generous with time — our most valuable commodity. We all have the same amount in a day. How we give it to others matters. Cherish given time from others; we don’t have any guarantees on how many days we will walk this earth.
Generous with attention — undivided. Have you been with someone who listened deeply and seemed to have nowhere else to be? No rush. In an overly distracted world with notifications for everything, this is increasingly challenging.
Generous with stuff — sharing what we’ve been blessed with. I’m not talking about your used throwaways. I’m talking about sharing your car, your vacation home, your extra points, your costly seats. Let’s teach our kids that our material items are to bless others too.
Yolanda Mejia-Sub Counselor until January
We are excited to welcome sub-counselor Yolanda Mejia to Sunfield Elementary. She will be helping out on our campus 3 days a week to support the needs of students, staff, and families until we find an excellent candidate for the 2nd counselor position.
We want you! Be a Sunfield Volunteer. Sign up today!
Volunteering at Sunfield is simple. Whether you are volunteering to go on a field trip, helping with teacher projects or mentoring with students. Once you have completed your VIP process, all volunteers will pick up a copy of Sunfield procedures and expectations from our front office. Please remember that volunteers need to check in with the teacher. Sunfield teachers are reminded to let the front office team know if they have a volunteer that is coming to help. Volunteers cannot walk students to class or be in classrooms without administration approval. We are excited to have VIP's at Sunfield! Please contact our VIP Coordinator (Maricela Gonzales) for questions at maricela.gonzales@hayscisd.net
