Welcome Back!!
August 27, 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope that you and your family have been enjoying the summer as the excitement builds for the 2024-2025 school year! The first day of school is Thursday, September 5th and is a full day. The 2024-2025 School Calendar can be found on the school website in the "Backpack" section. Our regular school hours are 8:00 am to 2:35 pm. Preschool hours are 8:30 am to 2:15 pm.
The 2024-2025 Student Handbook is undergoing revisions to reflect updates to our Attendance Policy and Grading Practice/Report Cards. This information will be shared prior to the first day of school. Class supply lists are posted on the "Backpack" area of the website. Thank you to Costco for donation bookbags for ALL students which will be sent on the first day of school, September 5th.
OnCourse Connect is now open to begin the Annual Registration process. Thank you for your patience as we've encountered errors in this process which we haven't experienced before which can not be immediately corrected internally by our IT or office staff. We understand your frustration as it's equally frustrating for us as well. Please take his into consideration when addressing your concerns to the main office staff.
In order to view your child’s placement, the annual registration process must be completed in the Parent Portal of www.oncourseconnect.com. This process includes viewing and electronically signing District policies and forms, updating emergency contacts, health alerts, and dismissal information. Once the Annual Registration process is completed, your child’s homeroom teacher will be viewable in the Other Student Data tab.
At the conclusion of last school year, information was shared regarding the discontinuation of "looping" classes and the district's position on placing requests for teachers. If you have specific concerns to assist in planning for a successful partnership with your child's assigned teacher, please contact me.
If you have recently registered your child, please contact Sharon Rickards, srickards@tesnj.com or call 609-296-2858 x210 if you have not received your OnCourse login credentials. Established account passwords can be reset by selecting “forgot password”.
If you have been designated to receive courtesy bussing to and from school, your child’s bus information can be found in the Other Student Data tab. If you do not wish for Tuckerton Elementary School to transport your child for the 2024-2025 school year and have not yet completed the transportation waiver, please contact Mrs. Lank by calling 609-296-2858 x282 or email mlank@tesnj.com. Preschool students receiving courtesy bussing have been assigned a designated Prek Bus route and will not be transported with K-6 students. The district is not providing PreK Before Care this year.
All students have the opportunity to purchase grab and go breakfast when they arrive between 7:50 - 8:00am. "Breakfast Club" supervision is not provided this year prior to the start of the school day. Students will be given time to eat in the classroom prior to starting the academic day at 8:15.
All families are encouraged to submit a free and reduced lunch application: https://mealapp.lunchtimesoftware.net/
See you next week!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Siobhan Grayson

Mrs. Snyder, STEAM
My name is Tina Snyder and my family and I just moved to LEH this summer. We are excited to start this next chapter in our lives and explore the many benefits that southern Ocean County has to offer.
Before starting at Tuckerton Elementary, I taught STEM at Brielle Elementary for 7 years, and 2 years at Saint Catharine School in Spring Lake. My BA and MEd are from The College of New Jersey with a background in STEM and Technology Education.
In my spare time, I enjoy fictional novels, exercising, and spending time with my family and walking our dog, Sydney!
Mrs. Wedderman, PreK
I have been married to my husband, Eric, for 20 years. We have three children, two sons Liam (17) and Jamie (11), and a daughter Quinn (14). My family and I reside in Manahawkin with our two dogs, Daisy and Auggie, a cat named Sunny, and various aquatic creatures. I enjoy traveling, hiking, beach days, gardening, pretty much anything outdoorsy, music, cooking (and eating).

Pets on School Grounds
TES is a special neighborhood school where many of our students and families walk together. With the busyness of arrival and dismissal, we ask our respectfully ask our families to adhere to the District's Policy 7490 regarding pets on school grounds. While we enjoy meeting our families' furry friends, the increasing number of dogs during arrival and dismissal has been a concern raised by parents and staff and is one which should be adhered to as our school policy states. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation and understanding.
