PRESCHOOL NEWS
We are so excited to share that we’ve just wrapped up our first study, The First Six Weeks, and what a wonderful journey it’s been! Throughout these weeks, our preschoolers have been learning about routines, making friends, and building a strong classroom community.
To celebrate the culmination of this study, we hosted a special Friendship Friday! It was a wonderful day filled with fun and lots of laughter. The children had a great time playing friendship games with their classmates. Each student also had the chance to share a special item from home, giving everyone a glimpse into what is meaningful to them.
To top it all off, we made a Friendship Snack Mix as a fun and meaningful way to celebrate the spirit of friendship and community. Just like how friendships are built on sharing and combining different personalities and interests, the snack mix symbolized this by allowing each child to contribute their favorite treat or fruit. Mixing everything together showed that when we share what we love with others, we can create something special and enjoyable for everyone. It was a simple, yet powerful way to reinforce the ideas of cooperation, inclusion, and togetherness!
We’re so proud of how much the children have grown during these first weeks, and we look forward to many more adventures in learning!

FOURTH GRADE NEWS
Fourth Grade English Language Arts
The fourth graders are off to a fantastic start this school year! We have been practicing mindful reading to build stamina and developing our typing skills in Writer's Workshop. We have also explored text genres and goal setting. We have had several read alouds focusing on growth mindset skills and started our first novel, The One and Only Ivan. It has been the start of such a fun and exciting new school year!

NEWS FROM MRS. DIRIENZO
Check it out! Healthy Snacks can boost your brain power! Most of us can get a little hungry while
completing homework or studying for tests, but before you reach for that bag of chips or cookies,
remember, healthy alternatives can help you stay focused and alert. Some options are air-popped
popcorn, trail mix or nuts, veggies and hummus, instant oatmeal, fruit and string cheese or yogurt, and
apples and peanut butter. Your body and brain will thank you!

MUSIC NEWS FROM MR. BOTH
Winter Concert prep has begun in music! The Advanced band has been working hard in rehearsals getting ready for their concert and auditions have just finished for Select Choir and rehearsals start this week during activity period on Thursdays. Please remind your children to practice their music at home and to remember their instruments for their lessons!
In music class 6th grade has been working on learning how to compose. They are learning the basics of composition which includes the use of rhythm and melody in interesting ways that promote great song making.
I hope everyone is excited for the winter concert as I am. I can’t wait for everyone to see all of the hard work that they are putting into it.
