Save the Date: Human Growth and Development Preview Night on February 11th
- Human Growth and Development is about the process of growth beginning with pre-adolescence through adolescence. At the elementary and middle school levels, a program is presented to students in grades 4, 5, and 6 to provide them with a fact-based understanding of the changes in their physical development that is aligned to the California Health Education Standards (2008).
- The Human Growth and Development presentations were first approved by the CVUSD Board of Education in 1986, with the most current versions approved by the Board of Education in December 2021. Click here to learn more.
- In accordance with California Education Code 51240, parents can opt their child out of viewing the video by providing written notice to their child’s teacher.
Sharing Resources & Care: CVUSD Supports Communities Impacted by Wildfires
Last week, members of our dedicated CVUSD Mental Health Support team extended their care to the Pasadena Unified School District. As students returned to school for the first time since the Eaton Fire, our skilled staff offered crucial support. They led a range of activities focused on well-being, aiming to restore a sense of safety and enhance learning experiences. We're proud to stand by PUSD's resilient students, teachers, school leaders and their community.
The Westlake High School community, and the WHS football program, teamed up for a donation drive to support the Palisades Charter High School and Pacific Palisades community. Demonstrating compassion and solidarity, they successfully collected over 300 new clothing items and $4,140 in gift cards. Contributions were received at the WHS front office and continued through a drive-thru donation event held at Warrior Stadium last week. In times of need, we rise together, demonstrating that our community's strength is rooted in our steadfast support for each other.
