Congratulations Coach Spiewak!
Please congratulate Coach Spiewak on his 300th win this past week! Coach Spiewak has been with the baseball program for more than 20 years. This is a great accomplishment now only for Coach Spiewak, but for our baseball program as well. Continued success in the season!
Baseball
This past week included three big league games on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday was extra special as we recognized our senior player and parents on senior recognition day.
The week started with a big home matchup with Owen J. Roberts, the number one ranked team in district one. Methacton defeated OJR 10-0 in six innings. Evan Jones threw a no-hitter against the first place Wildcats, going six innings, walking three and striking out seven. Tommy Kratz had three hits, a walk and three RBI, including a two-run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the sixth to lead the Warrior offense. Kasey Humes, Nick Remish and Bryce Lohsen had two hits each, highlighted by a three-run homerun from Remish.
On Wednesday Methacton took on Pottstown at home for senior recognition day. The weather cooperated and it was a wonderful ceremony pre-game to honor our senior players and parents. A special thanks to the parents who organized the pre and post-game events, and to Steve Mahan for announcing the ceremony. Methacton defeated Pottstown in three innings. Tripp Shytle led the offense with three hits, three runs scored and four RBI. Kasey Humes added two hits and three RBI.
On Thursday we traveled to Downingtown West for a non-league matchup. West defeated Methacton 3-2. James DeHaven threw a great game and Chris Sandner threw really well in relief. The Warriors next took on rival Spring-Ford at home. Methacton defeated SF 4-3 in a back and forth highly contested game. Will Christian had a great performance on the mound, striking out seven and walking only one through 6.2 innings. Austin Frank came in to close out the seventh to earn the win. Offensively Ayden Fitch had a huge two out single to give the Warriors a 3-2 lead after Kasey Humes had a two-out two-strike two RBI double into the right center field gap. In the seventh inning Bryce Lohsen led off with a single and scored the winning run on a Ben Clark sacrifice fly to centerfield.
The successful week puts Methacton at 14-4 overall and 11-3 in the Pioneer Athletic Conference. We travel to Boyertown on Monday night for a huge matchup with the Bears.

Girls Lacrosse
The girl's lacrosse team just finished an eventful, yet challenging week. Monday's close loss against OJR 11-9, showed the team's commitment to trying their best and leaving it all on the field. Wednesday was an even tougher loss against Spring-Ford 15-7, but that didn't deter Alexa Diezel, Sam Gambone, and Bella Catania from scoring 2 goals each. Lily Dewan had 1 goal and 2 assists.

**The team would like to recognize two amazing accomplishments by our players.
Congratulations to Bella Catania on earning her 100th draw control!! Many of our team's goals come from obtaining the ball from a draw. Bella's ability to place the ball where it is needed and place it in her or her teammate's stick has contributed to the team's success on offense. This accompaniment is thanks in part to her great midfielders who support her in boxing out their players and adjusting their placement on the circle based on Bella's draws. Amazing job Bella and thank you to our midfield! Your teamwork makes a difference.
Congratulations to Callie Fisher on her 100th save in goal!! Lacrosse is heavily dependent on everyone working together as a team. Callie's success demonstrates her ability to take leadership on defense by directing the players where to go. This milestone also highlights her quick reflexes and decision-making skills. This accomplishment comes with the recognition of our amazing defense and their cohesive movements at shutting down most players before they get the shot off. Great work Callie and our defensive players!
Softball
The Methacton softball team went 2-1 last week. Sydney Hockenbrock and Madison Krupiewski continue to lead the team with their bats. Jenna Kaufman, Mia Pettine, and Mady Polonsky also had a great week contributing multiple hits and great defense.
On our away game vs. Pottstown we got to see a glimpse of the future with Standout performances from Sadie Fitch, Kaitlin Pettine, Jasmine McKeown, Avery Kenney, Kyla Soulen, and Adrianna Hopple.
The Warriors lost a tough game on Friday against S-F, but look to bounce back on Monday vs. Boyertown.
Boys Lacrosse
The boys had another long week but picked up another win against PJP helping our chances for making the district tournament. As we enter our last week of the regular season, we are looking to complete a winning season as we currently sit even at 8-8. Come out to cheer the boys on Tuesday for our last scheduled home game and potentially Thursday with a late season addition.
