Our Spiritual Theme: We Walk by Faith
February Focus: We Walk by Faith... in Knowledge
Spiritual Reflection by Miss Sheila O'Callaghan
Sunday, February 23, is the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Very soon we will begin to get ready for the season of Lent.
Have you given some thought about what you will do during this Holy Season called Lent? Remember to Walk by Faith. Lent is a great season to Walk by Faith. Jesus does not mind if you eat some candy during Lent but he does not like it if you throw the paper or wrapper on the floor. Walk by Faith and put the wrapper in the trash can.
During Lent be kind, caring, loving, thoughtful, and reach out to be a friend to someone who needs friendship.
There are some beautiful and important themes in the letter of St. James. First, he tells us not to be greedy, discriminate or be unkind, especially not to use unkind words. Second, he encourages prayer. Third, he encourages Christians to remain strong in difficult times. These three themes are all good to keep in mind as we prepare for Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5.
On February 27, we remember St. Gregory of Narek, Abbot and Doctor of the Church.
Please pray for Pope Francis. He is very ill and needs our prayers.
Please pray for the sick, especially Fr. Mink, Mrs. Miriam Harris, Oliver Conaty, and all the sick of our parish. Please continue to pray for Maureen Engelbert and the Straight family. Pray also pray for our Armed Forces and First Responders.
School Drop-off & Pick-up Request
As we work together to create a safe and respectful environment for our students which reflects our faith values, we would like to take a moment to kindly remind everyone about the importance of courteous behavior during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Recently, we have received concerns from our school neighbors and crossing guards regarding interactions during these busy times. We understand that mornings and afternoons can be hectic, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of all families in ensuring that our school community remains a positive and welcoming space.
To help foster a respectful atmosphere, we kindly ask for your support in the following ways:
- Please be mindful of our neighbors by avoiding blocked driveways and car access.
- Remember that students should only exit/ enter cars in the car line on Shallcross Avenue in front of the school building. Idling elsewhere for drop-off/ pick-up purposes creates backup and difficulty for neighbors, and may make walkers less safe. Parents wishing to avoid the car line are always welcome to park and walk to the school with/ to pick up their children.
- Follow all traffic rules and crossing guard instructions to ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers alike.
We are grateful for your partnership in setting a positive example for our children and for making our school community a place of kindness and consideration. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and support.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office.
Technology Update
Help Desk
Mr. Ostrowski has been a wonderful addition to the SAS Team, and he is preparing to expand the team that works with us at St. Ann's. To ensure that all technology needs are known to our tech staff and can be addressed efficiently, we kindly ask that all technology requests be sent via email, to: helpdesk@thesaintannschool.org.
A direct call or visit to the technology office is still welcome, but the use of the helpdesk tool will enable good record keeping, giving visibility on issues to the whole team at Education & Technology Professionals. We ask that students, staff, and anyone with tech questions make use of this tool.

The Catholic Schools Office has released a general calendar overview for the 2025-26 school year. Now, St. Ann School will work to set the details of our local needs in coordination with St. Ann Parish. Once that calendar is approved by the Catholic Schools Office, we will publish it for families. This process is usually completed in May.
Here are some important dates which we can share:
