Students can sign-up for one club per session. In order to accommodate all students, we ask that students only sign-up for two clubs a year. If you have questions regarding club sign-up, please contact the main office.

SHIELD Testing Update and CCDPH
Our students and staff are doing a fantastic job with SHIELD testing each week. While we had some delays and challenges this last week due to a new funnel being used we tested 508 students and received 494 negative results and 0 positives. We will send an update should we encounter any future challenges.
The CCDPH has also confirmed this week that there is no outbreak in any classroom at Churchill School. Please continue to monitor for symptoms and reach out to us with questions or concerns.

Lunch Adjustments and Arrival/Dismissal Reminders
We recently made adjustments to lunchtime to allow for more spacing between students while unmasked and eating lunch. The students have done well making this change and we appreciate everyone's cooperation as we continue to refine the procedures during this challenging time of day. We will rotate and change the students sitting in the alternate seating starting the week of October 11.
Arrival and dismissal are going well. They continue to be busy times and we appreciate all the students and families that are following our procedures at the beginning and end of the day. A few reminders: Please do not use the staff parking lot to drop off or park during arrival or dismissal. If you are crossing through or in the bussing area at any point during arrival or dismissal, please change your walking/travel path to avoid this area. If you are parking and walking to meet your child during dismissal, please do so south of 191st street. If you are onsite at dismissal, please wait for your child or designate a spot that is beyond the bike racks. The dismissal area is crowded and additional people make it difficult to guide students to their designated areas.
Counseling Corner
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. It's important to teach children coping skills that can help them face their fears, calm themselves down, and cheer themselves up. Here are a few emotion-focused and problem-focused coping skills to practice with your child.
- Labeling feelings
- Learning positive self-talk
- Watch a funny movie
- Create a calm-down kit
- Practicing the script for asking for help
- Make a list of pros and cons
