Carver Family Newsletter
January 25, 2023
From the Principal's Office
Our students did a fantastic job with indoor recess during our last rainy stretch, but we know they prefer to play outdoors! A a gentle reminder, please make sure that your student wears appropriate shoes to school. All gym shoes are okay, as are boots, or shoes with a strap. We discourage Crocs, as they offer no ankle and foot support. Students who wear Crocs will not be permitted to play in 4Square, Basketball, Football, or Wallball games.
Please share this newsletter with three families! There is super important information that our team would like to share with you!
Warmly,
Principal Manning
iMessage and Chat Feature
Also, if a student is in an iMessage on one device, those messages might appear in other devices that they are logged into.
We encourage healthy use of social media and technology. We are also asking families to please monitor and view your child's participation in these chat groups. We are suggesting a daily sweep of group chats and conversations with your child about internet etiquette. Our team has encountered many classroom and playground disputes that originated in a group chat, a voice note, or a screen recording that was shared between students.
Finally, please remind children that their digital footprint lives online forever. Messages are never truly deleted, and screenshots, screen recordings, and photos can be shared without their consent. We want our children to avoid going viral for the wrong reasons.
Our school policy is that no students may use their phone or personal device at school. If a family needs to communicate with a student, or if an emergency occurs, please call our main office at (415) 330-1540.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support to keep our students safe.
