Aeries Parent Portal Data Confirmation
Simi Valley Unified will be utilizing Aeries as the student information system again this year. Through the Aeries program, parents/guardians can monitor academic progress, as well as health information, contact information and communications. It is required that all families complete the Data Confirmation process in the Aeries portal prior to the first day of school on August 15, 2024.
**Students will not be able to check out library books until these confirmations are completed. The following document will walk you through the steps to complete this task.
**Note: When updating contact information, it would be helpful to use a cell phone number as the primary number. This will allow you to receive text message communications sent by the school. Click here for more information on the Aeries Parent Portal Data Confirmation.
Miss the Band Meeting Last Week? It's NOT too late!

Hello All!
Some have sent me messages about the "Try them all" appointment at Royal High School where your students would be able to try any instrument offered for this program. Unfortunately, Royal High School became too over worked to make these appointments possible.
However! You do have the option to ask the rental places recommended at to bottom of the main flyer to test out all the beginning band instruments at their rental locations. Just give them a call! Here are their numbers:

Participation Fee: Participation fee to be paid to the Royal HS Band Boosters using the QR code below. If you are making a payment by check please make that check out to Royal High Band Boosters.
Reminder the due date for this payment is September 18th.
If you missed the meeting, below is a summary of the main points from the meeting:
- Beginning band is Wednesdays at 2:30 - 3:30pm
- Advanced band is Thursdays at 2:30 - 3:30pm
If your student has 1 year of experience, they qualify for Advanced band.
- For those of you who missed out on the instrument demonstration, see the video below demonstrating the instruments offered in our class.
- Students interested in percussion will be learning mallets (mallets will be played on a bell set) and snare drum as demonstrated in the video.
School Breakfast and Lunches
All students can receive free breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. Menus will be posted weekly in this newsletter. However, menus are subject to change so families are encouraged to check the website directly.
Breakfast is served from 7:40am - 8:05am.
****Application for the federal National School Lunch Program for Free or Reduced Price Lunches is not required to qualify for the California Universal Meal Program. If you do not wish to disclose income information or elect not to fill out an application for any reason, your child may still eat free breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria daily.****
