Attendance Updates: Please Read
Early Release Requests
Our attendance office is getting overwhelmed with last minute early release requests. Please call 619-593-5331 at least 2 hours before your student needs to leave or send a note to be dropped off before school begins. This will ensure your student receives their early release note in a timely manner.All Day Absences
For all day absences, you can email vhs-attendance@guhsd.net or continue to leave a message at 619-593-5333. Please include your student's name, ID number, date of absence and reason for absence. Absences must be cleared within 72 hours or students will be marked truant.

Changes for Second Semester
Students, please be sure to check Infinite Campus tonight for your most up to date schedule for the spring semester.
We are excited to welcome back Mrs. Watt after her maternity leave this past semester. Starting on Monday, she will once again be the counselor for all students with last names starting with Ban-F.
FAFSA/CADAA
Seniors, if you have not yet submitted your FAFSA or CADAA application, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible! If you need help, mark your calendars for the countywide financial aid blitz event on January 25th. A number of sites will be hosting Cash for College workshops, where you can get one-on-one assistance with your FAFSA or CADAA. In our district, students can visit either Mount Miguel or Santana High School anytime from 9am-12pm.
Winter Formal : February 1st
Valhalla's Winter Formal is scheduled for Saturday, February 1st from 7:00pm - 10:00pm at the Encore Event Center. Tickets can be purchased from the Finance Office; $60/tickets or $55 for students with an ASB card
Summer Science at the famous Salk Institute!
The Salk Institute's High School Summer Scholars Application is OPEN! This incredible program provides students with the opportunity to complete a research project while working one-on-one with a scientist mentor. Visit our website for the application and additional information.
Application, resume, and interview workshops via Zoom will be held on the following dates to help student craft a stellar application. Zoom workshops will be from 5pm-6pm on the following dates: January 14 & 30 and February 4 & 20
