Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School
THINK TEAM
September 6, 2024
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
As we settle into the school year I do my best to highlight areas to help keep you informed. Our school community is large and our ability to communicate and collaborate is important to prepare all students for success. Below are a few items to consider as we move into the second week of September.
School Safety: Unfortunately, incidents of violence in schools persist. Last evening, you received an update from DCS regarding our safety priorities, which I have also included in this newsletter. We are fortunate to have valuable support from our School Resource Officer, Officer Burks, and our School Safety Monitor, Mr. P., who assist us throughout the day. Safety is a daily topic of discussion for our team, and we continuously review our protocols. We urge everyone in our community to see something/say something, if they notice anything concerning, no matter how small.
Academic Monitoring/Support: The 5th week of the quarter is the Week of Sept. 16. Please be sure you are checking Infinite Campus for grade progress. I use the Parent App which is efficient and informative. If you have concerns or questions, the first step is to contact the teacher. They are the most informed about your child and the situation.
Think Team: Throughout the year, I’ll continue to emphasize our "Thinking Team" theme to remind us that we are stronger together than as individuals. Our ability to care for and communicate with each other will be essential as we face challenges. A crucial aspect of this is assuming positive intent.
As the year goes on, I encourage everyone to assume positive intent and stay committed to collaborating in the best interest of community. We are stronger when we support one another, and we are better together.
As always I am grateful to serve the Jerome and appreciate all your help and support.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mike

Media Center Opt Outs
As part of the annual back to school update, parents were asked if they would like to receive an email notification of their student’s book checkout. If you opted in to receiving email notifications for your student’s book checkout, the ability for him/her to independently check out a book will not be an option. A media specialist or library aide will need to check out the books allowing them to send an email receipt.
If you no longer wish to receive these notifications, please complete this form. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our school media specialist or building administrator.
2023-2024 Yearbooks
The 2023-2024 Yearbooks have been delivered to DJHS. If you chose to have your yearbook delivered to your home, you may have already received it. Our Yearbook classes are currently going through the 3 pallets of yearbooks, taking inventory and organizing delivery. Due to the large volume of books it does take some time to distribute. We appreciate your patience.
------------------------------------------------
Also as a reminder this is a student driven product and there could be a mistake or typo. We make every effort to limit but they do happen each year. Thank you for your understanding.
DJHS Family Hub
The DJHS Staff Hub has been heIpful so I have spent some time refining and created one for our families. The goal is to give you a quick and helpful stop for all your needs as a Jerome parent. It is a living document so I can update in real time. I hope you find it helpful. Any feedback welcome.
