Coloma Junior High
Family Edition - Week of May 19th
🎓 Wrapping Up the Year & Looking Ahead!
Believe it or not, we have just 12 days of school remaining! As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we are not only wrapping up important classroom learning but also planning meaningful transition activities to help students feel confident and excited about what’s next.
đź‘‹ Welcoming Our New 6th Graders
We’re excited to welcome our incoming 6th graders! Transition activities are planned to introduce them to our building, staff, and school routines. This is a special time to ease nerves and build enthusiasm for middle school life. We will welcome the incoming students for tours this week on Wednesday. We will also take time to meet with incoming families the evening of May 27th at 6pm.
🎒 Preparing 8th Graders for High School
Our 8th grade students are getting ready to take the next big step—high school! We'll be offering opportunities to help them reflect on their middle school journey, ask questions, and prepare for the transition ahead. On May 28th our 8th graders will eat lunch in the High School cafeteria. This allows us to teach them how their cafeteria is different before they move to the High School in the fall. We recognize that this is one area that is stressful for incoming freshmen, so we do our best to ease their fears.
🗂️ Elective Selection for 6th & 7th Graders
Current 6th and 7th grade students will soon begin choosing their electives for the upcoming school year. This is an exciting chance for students to explore interests and take ownership of their schedule. Be sure to have a discussion with your student about what electives they might be interested in for the 2025-26 school year. Be on the lookout for more information coming home about the elective selection process.
It’s a busy and exciting time, and we’re so proud of the growth our students have shown this year. Thank you for your continued support as we finish strong and prepare for what’s next!
Congratulations to our Robotics Team!
Our Robotics Team traveled for their last competition of the year and came away with a 1st place Inspire Award this weekend. Congratulations Crew!
