Have some extra time in retirement? How About Something New?
One of the primary goals of the Granada Hills HOA is to enhance the neighborhood through community involvement. We host the big July 4th parade and celebration each year, coordinate a craft fair in December, and have kid focused events for Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
So, how about something new … something for those older residents who have been the backbone of Granada Hills through the years. Mary Woodruff, our only retired HOA board member, has been talking about hosting a get together at the park once a month for a brown bag lunch. It would give our residents who are home during the day a chance to meet neighbors and find others that share common hobbies or interests. Maybe we have folks who are interested in getting together to discuss gardening or a book club, game nights, music, cooking, volunteer organizations … or maybe there are ways that we can help and support each other.
If you have ideas or want to get involved in planning an event, please feel free to reach out to Mary at mwoodruff.atx@gmail.com.
Let’s give it a try and have some fun! If you’re interested, all you have to do is show up for the first brown bag lunch at the park on Friday, April 25th and we will figure out what’s next from there. You can RSVP below or just show up.
If you have neighbors who don’t receive the monthly newsletter, please invite them to join us. You can also forward the newsletter to them so that they can subscribe.
