LMC Information and News
COMING IN MARCH!
- ITS HERE!! March Madness! This year it Candy vs Each Other!! We just finished today with our Sweet Sixteen Round 2. Monday starts our elite eight! WHO WILL BE THE CANDY CHAMP????
- We are thrilled to host once again author Lindsey Currie (along with Clow and Graham Elementary School) on March 20 for our 3-5 graders. Along with her amazing presentation, our students will be able to purchase her new book, The Mystery of Locked Rooms which is not going to be release to the general public until April 2! We are so lucky to have an opportunity to purchase a new new release! Order forms will be sent home on Monday.
- IMPORTANT!! If your student purchased a book for our author visit, please have them bring it on Monday so we can prep!
- Our KDG classes came for the first time to our LMC Exploration station. They had a blast exploring our OSMO, coloring, building stations. A new station was added: DINOSAUR BONES! So fun building dinos!
Best Practices for Chromebooks per our Tech Department:
Please make sure students are turning off their Chromebooks when they are finished (not just shutting the lid). If not completely shut down the following occurs:
- Drains the battery very quickly
- Can be problematic when switching networks from home to school and back.
Happy Reading!

Here is a great article and information from Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (offical website of the United States government).
Roller Skating With Skate Time!
It is time to register for roller skating in PE! We will be roller skating for two and a half weeks in our Physical Education classes starting the week of April 22nd. Students will learn the basics of roller skating and be involved with a great life-long fitness activity. The gym is carpeted so students will have an easier time to learn the basics of skating. The skates are quad skates and each student will be given a set of wrist guards to wear while skating. Patterson Elementary has partnered with SkateTime Roller Skating and to cover the cost of equipment it will be $10.00 per student in order to participate. For liability and consistency students must use SkateTime skates, however, if you would like to send additional safety equipment in with your student (knee pads, elbow guards, helmet) please feel free.
Please go to PUSHCOIN and register your student. Here you will check a box that you have read the waiver, you will be able to pay the $10.00, and select your student’s skate size. Skate sizes come in Juvenile and Men’s whole sizes. If you are needing a woman’s size please consider a size smaller. On Pushcoin you will find a code sheet that will assist you. In order for a student to participate this must be completed by Friday, March 22nd.
We are excited to offer this unit here at Patterson! Please email Mr. Folley at jared_folley@ipsd.org if you have any questions.
