Ringing In Ceremony - Class of 2037!
Kindergarteners - Welcome to Julian Curtiss 🔔
On September 25th, we held our annual Kindergarten Ringing In Ceremony, a cherished Julian Curtiss tradition that began in 1991. This symbolic event marks the beginning of our kindergartners' educational journey as they transition from preschoolers to young scholars. The ceremony not only celebrates their entry into the Julian Curtiss community, but also sets the stage for the next six year, culminating in their Ringing Out ceremony at the end of their 5th grade year.
It truly was a celebration as the entire school community gathered together in support of our youngest EAGLES. We are grateful to all the families who joined us for this special occasion and for their continued support as we guide these young learners. Congratulations to our kindergarteners on taking their first step in this exciting journey! We look forward to witnessing their growth and achievement in the years to come. Welcome Class of 2037!

Our Constitution - Written by 3rd Graders
As part of our assured experiences, our 3rd graders participated in a social studies event hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution. This session was designed to support their first Social Studies unit, which focuses on the history of government in Connecticut and the significance of Constitution Day.
Through an interactive activity, learned how the constitution came to be, the difference between state constitutions and the U.S. Constitution and created a class constitution of their own. This hands-on approach helped them better understand how American government works and the importance of civic responsibility.

Book of the Month - "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds
International Dot Day - A global celebration creativity, courage and collaboration!
"Just make a mark and see where it takes you."
The Dot is about a girl named Vashti who thinks she can't draw. Her teacher encourages her to start with just a dot, and that simple dot leads her to explore her creativity.
Our art teacher, Ms. Dietrick, and our media specialist, Ms. Murray, did an amazing job collaborating on this very special K-5 project that showcases the creativity of our students. After all students read the book, they created their own initial dot in Art class and embellished their dot in Media class, resulting in the creation of the "happy dot people."
🐶 Dog Policy at JC
Friendly Reminder:
For the safety and comfort of all our students, we kindly ask that families refrain from bringing dogs onto school grounds (including our blacktop/playground area). We love our furry friends, but keeping our grounds pet-free helps ensure a safe environment for everyone. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!
School Dismissal Manager 🚌

(SDM will not be used for absences or early dismissal notifications). Please be sure to sign up for the app and reach out to the main office if you need support.
