News for September 12, 2024
As I visited classrooms, the cafeteria and the playground it filled me with joy to see students laughing, learning, and building community with one another. We hope to see all of you behind the school at our Fall Family Gathering next Thursday, September 19th, 5:00-6:30. This event is a wonderful time to come together, get to know other families, meet the other students your child has built community with and meet staff. We will also share during a brief optional presentation in the music room at 6:15 about our School Improvement Plan and what it means to be a Title 1 school. We hope to see you there.

October Conferences
Roseville Area Schools values the partnership between school and home. We have conferences early in the school year to build relationships, share goals and ensure the school year is a success for each child both academically and socially.
Our conferences will be on October 10 and 15. Thank you to families who signed up at last week's Open House event. If you were not able to do so then, here are directions:
1. Go to https://www.myconferencetime.com/centralpark/
2. Click on the name of your child’s teacher.
3. Select the desired date/time for your conference by clicking on “Sign Up.”
4. Submit the requested information.
If you have several children attending our school, click on “Register for Multiple Conferences” on the top left and follow the prompts to schedule your children. After you schedule a conference online, the date and time are reserved for you. If you entered your email address correctly, you will receive email confirmation of your conference.
You will also receive an email reminder the day before the conference. Online sign up will be available until October 4th.
Connect with us at school if you would like assistance with this process. It's important to us that we connect with each child and their family!

Helen Keller Vision Care Services are coming to Central Park!
Helen Keller program staff and Nurse Buck will screen the vision of every Central Park student in grades 1-6 in September. HKI's vision eye doctor will come to Central Park September 27th to perform a refraction assessment & prescribe a free pair of eyeglasses to those who need them. The glasses will be delivered to school in early November. Nurse Buck will screen Kindergarten vision & color vision for male Kindergarten students at a later date.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in this vision screening program, please contact Lisa Buck, Licensed School Nurse, at 651-259-6766 or lisa.buck@isd623.org.
Here is more information about Helen Keller International:
Helen Keller International’s Minnesota Vision Program provides vision care services that include vision screenings and eyeglasses as needed, for students in grades 1 through 6, as well as students who have broken glasses or who are predetermined by their teacher to have vision issues. Thanks to our generous donors we can provide vision services and glasses at no cost to the students or their families.
The HKI Minnesota Vision Program is a community vision care provision program. We bring a team directly to your school to provide free vision screenings, a refraction assessment, and a free pair of eyeglasses to students in your school who need them. Please note, we are designed to complement routine complete eye exams, not to replace them. For those students who require a pair of eyeglasses, the Minnesota Vision Program will deliver the eyeglasses to the school for dispensing within 4 weeks after the initial assessment.
Across many populations in the United States, up to 20-30% of students will need a pair of eyeglasses--significant considering the number of students who will never receive eyeglasses. HKI Minnesota Vision Program can provide a cost-effective health intervention for students. HKI does significant work worldwide to promote vision health. HKI operates in only 4 states in the US.
