NWMS Weekly Parent Update

Good afternoon,

Last Thursday Report Cards were emailed to all parents. If you are not able to open the link to your child's Report Card, please try using a computer or laptop instead of a mobile device. Thanks to our PTO for the student rewards that were given to students on Friday during lunch. Student were eligible if they had Perfect Attendance , all A Honor Roll or A/B Honor Roll for 1st Quarter.

To receive Connect Ed calls and/or emails please call the number 1-855-502-7867 and use the option listed. Please call from the number you want to receive the call or want to opt out of.

Please remind your student to wear his/her One Card to school each day. Please also take a moment on Sunday to go through your child's bookbag to help him/her clean it out and ensure that only essential items are brought to school. Please remove any items with metal such as metal tins, metal 3-ring binders, umbrellas, etc. Also, please help remind students that have received the newer Chromebooks that they must take these out and place them on the pass around table before walking through the scanners each morning. The newer versions of the Chromebooks are causing the scanners to be set off.

Recently, we have had increased behavior situations in our student bathrooms. Students are not always placing their trash in the trash receptacles but instead are throwing their paper towels on the floor. They are also not always being careful when they are using the bathroom and our bathrooms are not always as clean for the next user as we would like. Can each family please speak with students about their bathroom etiquette and remind students that they should treat our school bathrooms the same way they treat your bathroom at home? We greatly appreciate your support in this area.

Wrestling and Basketball tryouts begin Mon., Nov. 18 after school until 5:45pm. Students trying out will report to the locker room after school, then report to the coach. All paperwork is due by 8:30 am Nov. 18. Paperwork can be turned in before the 18th. Required paperwork is the completed history form, physical form which are good for 395 days and a new completed concussion form due each school year. Please make sure each form is signed and dated. Students will not be able to try out without the completed paperwork.

Personal Care Items Donation Drive: We are collecting personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant) for Guilford Backpack Ministry from November 18th through December 6th. All grades and staff will be competing to see who will donate the most items - the winner will get a treat! Donation bins will be located in the Commons Area.
