March News
Happy March! We are so excited to embark on a month filled with learning, community, and celebrations. This week, we are thrilled to be engaged in Read Across America Week, a special time dedicated to fostering a love of reading in our students. One of the highlights of this celebration is our Cougars Read Together event! As a school community, we will be studying the incredible work of author Kevin Henkes and diving into his book, The Year of Billy Miller. We can’t wait for students and families to share in this journey together! For those who do not have a copy of the book, recordings will be posted bi-weekly with the next chapters available on their assigned days. Later in the month, we will be engaging in exciting and interactive activities tied to this book, bringing the story to life for our students!
Tonight (March 4), please join us virtually for our PTO Meeting, where we’ll be voting on new board members. We’re so grateful for our PTO’s ongoing support, and we’d love for you to be part of the conversation!
March is filled with engaging learning experiences, including STEM Morning Activities (March 6-7) for grades 1 and 2, Spring Conferences (March 11), and a Professional Development Day (March 12, no school for students). We’ll also celebrate Go Green Day (March 17) and enjoy our Spring Book Fair (March 18-19).
We are especially excited for our Kindergarten Concert (March 20) and Crazy Socks Day (March 21)—both are sure to bring joy and school spirit! On March 25, we’ll recognize Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, supporting one of our amazing students. Families can also join us for Planetarium Night at Mary G. Fritz (March 26) before an Early Release Day (March 27) for staff professional development.
March is shaping up to be a fantastic month, and we look forward to welcoming spring with all of you! We absolutely love seeing our families involved in school life, whether it’s as mystery readers or participating in one of our many events. Your engagement and support help make Cook Hill such a special place, and we truly appreciate all you do for our students. If you ever have suggestions, ideas, or hopes for ways we can further connect as a school community, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
March is shaping up to be an exciting and fulfilling month, and we can’t wait to celebrate, learn, and grow together. Spring is just around the corner, and we look forward to welcoming the season with all of you!
In collaboration,
Mr. Munroe and the Cook Hill Team

Student Celebrations and Happenings
As part of our continued efforts to celebrate and recognize our amazing students, families, and staff we would like to invite families to complete our Student Celebrations and Happenings form!
The form will be open throughout the entire school year. Anytime your family or child celebrate or do something interesting, add a new submission!
Not only will we celebrate our school community together during our Morning Announcements, but (with the families permission) we will regularly share one of the submissions with our entire school community!
We cannot wait to see what our students, staff, and families are up to when they are being the change they want to see in the world and living their best lives!
