We are in our third and final week of our 2023-2024 School Advisory Committee (SAC) surveys. Your feedback regarding communication and school safety have been insightful in our understanding of your perspectives and preferences. This feedback along with the final survey, this week, will play a role in our efforts to meet the needs of our school community.

This week our survey focuses on extracurricular activities and after school programming. Our mission statement sets the goal of creating critical thinkers, responsible citizens, and future leaders. Students develop these skills through the knowledge, skills, and character that is taught both in and out of the classroom.

Your participation in this survey will help us evaluate current offerings and influence new program offerings for the 24/25 school year. We encourage you to take a moment to share your thoughts with us.

PCK will be participating in a supplies drive for an organization called Sox’s Place. Sox’s Place is a youth drop-in center in Denver, CO. It is an organization where people obtain food and other helpful services in times of need. Some crucial supplies that Sox’s Place needs are protein bars, gloves, hand warmers, cereal, pasta, hats/beanies, bottled water, backpacks, lunch boxes, pasta sauce, and blankets. The boxes for collecting the supplies will be placed at the entrances of the school. These boxes will be here for the whole month of March, so you have plenty of time to drop things off. Thank you and we hope you participate!

PCK is looking for an Assistant Girls' Soccer Coach. If interested email the athletic director, Jeff Myers, at jmyers@ckcs.net.

CMAS testing is coming up right after spring break. In order to make sure our 3rd-8th grade students are fueled throughout the day, we're asking parents to bring in testing snacks. Please sign up using the appropriate link below.

Thank you parent volunteers who came in to interview our students for Young Ameritowne.

The 3rd and 4th grade team won their first playoff battle on Tuesday! They will compete again next week. 5th and 6th grade have a playoff battle tonight!

Pi Day is coming! PCK celebrates Pi Day each year with fun math lessons and pie eating. Please

be on the look out for a Pi Day sign up from your classroom coordinator!

JOIN US IN THE LUNCHROOM! We welcome lunchroom volunteers!

The lunch period is from 10:40-1:00 pm.

The Board of Directors has been diligently conducting interviews with our pre-finalist candidates, and we anticipate having a shortlist of finalists very soon.

Our next steps involve devising a plan for the finalists to visit our school campus and meet members of our community. This interaction is crucial in ensuring that we find the best fit for our school while also considering what is best for our students. We are committed to providing opportunities for community members to engage with the finalists.

As we work on finalizing the details of this plan, we ask for your patience and understanding. We want to ensure that the process is thorough and thoughtful, allowing ample opportunity for input from all stakeholders.

The Board will continue to provide updates on the progress of the search, and we encourage you to submit any questions or concerns you may have, HERE. Your feedback is invaluable as we move forward in this important decision-making process.

The PCK 2024 Masquerade Gala and Auction is coming April 13th! Every year we have amazing PCK businesses and families sponsor our Gala to help make it happen. It is almost time to elect a new board for the PTA. Please reach out if you are interested in a board position for the next term. Details regarding timing will be discussed at upcoming PTA meetings over the next couple of months. The positions of president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary will be open. Joining the PCK PTA is a great way to get more involved at school and give back to our amazing PCK community. The next PTA meeting is March 27th at 6:00pm in the Middle School Commons. Thank you to Tyler Mooneyham and Dewey Lane for being our Safety Dads this week. Our students love having dads here making sure our perimeter is secure, helping with lunch and recess, and assisting with other activities as needed. Dads can stay two shifts or for the whole day.
