PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, May 3rd
We have had a lot going on this week and will continue to do so right up until we break for summer in just 18 school days! This week was full of field trips and fundraisers and safety drills oh my!
Our spring safety drill went incredibly well on Tuesday morning and I am, as always, in awe of how our students handle these situations. The Arlington Heights Police Department were in attendance and they were also very impressed!
Thank you to everyone that came out to our Photo's Fundraiser on Wednesday night! It was so lovely to see so many of you there!
Next week is our always amazing Walkathon week! As well as the Walkathon and all the festivities that go along with it there will also be the Arlington Heights Memorial Library Art Show on Wednesday evening, our amazing Music for Youth group performance (also on Wednesday evening), and our 4th Graders will be holding their annual "Greek Mythology Wax Museum" on Friday afternoon! What a wonderful week it will be!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Be sure to rest those feet so you can get your steps in at the Walkathon!
Thanks
Ellie Chin

We will have a VERY special guest at our Pie in the Face event on Tuesday..... Our Make-a-Wish recipient, Wren, will be coming along to see our teachers get pie'd and is so excited for all the fun! UPDATE FROM THE TRAFFIC TEAM (2nd POST!)
Thank you so so much for working with our Traffic Team this year to keep our students safe and on time! We know there has been a lot of change but we are so grateful to how you all adapted to it and worked with us! Thank You!
We would just like to remind everyone that there is no adult supervision before 8:50am so please do not drop students off before then unless you are supervising them yourself! As the weather gets nicer and kids are walking or biking on their own, please help them time their departure so they are not arriving at school before 8:50am.
Thank you again!
AHML ART SHOW - WEDNESDAY, MAY 8th 6-7pm (2nd POST!)
We are so lucky to have been given a larger exhibition space at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library this year so we are able to exhibit more Patton student artwork! There will be a reception at AHML on Wed., May 8th, 6-7pm to honor these students! Please stop by to view all the D25 artwork on display if your schedule allows! There are so many talented artists in Arlington Heights!
The students whose artwork has been chosen are below.
ADVANCED LEARNING PLACEMENT INFORMATION (Ongoing POST!)
The advanced placement process will occur in May after the school year's testing windows have closed. Percentiles on the most recent CogAT and the highest of three MAP scores will be converted to a standard score (or z-score) before averaging, which provides a standardized way to compare data. The district will also calculate local percentiles for both assessments at this time. Families will receive placement information in mid-May. Only families of students who are new qualifiers to Advanced Math (grades 4-7) and Advanced Language Arts (grades 6-8) will receive letters. If a student is enrolled in an advanced course this school year, they will automatically be enrolled for next year. Please review the FAQ document for answers to more specific questions regarding the placement process. If you still have questions after reviewing, please contact Katie Paulson at kpaulson@sd25.org.
