Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we begin the third trimester, we are continuing to reinforce positive behavior expectations throughout our school. This trimester, our focus will be on ensuring a respectful and enjoyable lunchroom experience for all students.
To support this, we are introducing a new lunchroom procedure that includes a Lunchroom Behavior Reset Form. This form outlines the expectations for lunchtime behavior, which will be reviewed with students during a special presentation on Tuesday. If a student has difficulty following these expectations, the form will be sent home for a parent or guardian’s signature. The following day, the student will have a chance to reset and review lunchroom expectations with a staff member while completing the form.
Our goal is to create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere in the lunchroom, where all students can enjoy their meals in a positive environment. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home.
Thank you for partnering with us in making our school community the best it can be!
Mr. Mark Dwyer
Interim Dean of Students

A message from Principal Mrs. Czarnecki
Dear Medinah Intermediate Families,
Students and staff are working hard as we continue our journey of learning and growth! One important focus this next month is preparing for the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for grades 3-5, which will take place on March 24, 25, and 26. The IAR is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their progress in Math and English Language Arts, helping us understand their strengths and areas for growth.
To help your child feel confident and prepared, here are a few tips:
✅ Encourage practice – Students can explore sample questions and online tools at IAR Practice Tests.
✅ Support healthy habits – A good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast can make a big difference!
✅ Promote a positive mindset – Remind your child that doing their best is what matters most.
We are so proud of our students for their dedication in the classroom, motivation to continue completing homework, and commitment to reading at home—all great ways to continue preparing and showing what they know!
We appreciate your partnership in making sure our students are ready and confident for testing. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Natalie Czarnecki
