Subject: Important Reminder: Halfway through IAR Testing!
Dear Wredling Middle School Parents and Guardians,
We want to extend our thanksfor your ongoing support during the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing period. We're thrilled to announce that we are halfway through this important assessment process!
As we gear up for the next phase of testing scheduled for next Tuesday, April 9th, we kindly request your assistance in ensuring that your children are fully prepared for success.
Here's how you can help:
Healthy Breakfast: Please ensure that your child starts the day with a nutritious breakfast to fuel their minds and bodies for the testing ahead.
Charged Chromebooks: Make sure your child's Chromebook is fully charged and ready for use during the testing sessions.
Timely Arrival: Prompt arrival is crucial. Please ensure your child arrives at school no later than 8:30 AM to avoid any disruptions to the testing schedule.
Wired Headsets: It's essential that your child brings wired headsets for optimal concentration during the testing period.
Additionally, we want to take a moment to commend your children for their remarkable perseverance and dedication demonstrated during the first week of testing. Their commitment to excellence is truly commendable, and we couldn't be prouder!
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure a smooth and successful testing experience for all our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Enjoy your weekend!
Tim
Notes from the Office
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)
Good Afternoon Wredling Parents/Guardians!
This is just a reminder that ALL eligible Wredling students will be taking the remainder of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) on the following dates: April 9 - April 11. We will be taking IAR in the morning each day and running an alternative schedule following. Our building will be running an adapted schedule on those days. Please note that makeup testing will start on April 12th for those students who missed any testing sections.
Please make sure your child is well-rested, has a good breakfast, and is on time for school on these dates. This will help set them up for success as they take these tests.
They will also need to bring the following items to school with them for each day of testing:
Chromebook FULLY charged and ready to go
Wired Earbuds - (check to ensure they are working, please)
Book to read (Hard Copy)
Writing Utensil
***STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO KEEP THEIR PHONES AND SMARTWATCHES

***Due to IAR testing, there will be no SHH the weeks of April 1st and April 8th. We will resume on Tuesday April 16th***
Just a reminder that SHH is an afterschool tutoring program and an extension of our school day. ALL students must follow WMS Guidelines for Success.
Along with the Guidelines for Success, student are expected to:
- stay the entire time unless parent communication is provided
- must be seated with a tutor (even if they just need a quiet space to work)
- working quietly and not disturbing others
- stay off ALL technology during the session unless it is teacher approved
- to bring all necessary materials to the LRC so that they can use the work time appropriately.
There are no exceptions to these rules. If students are not following the above, they will be asked not to return to SHH. There has been an uptick in disruptive behaviors at SHH and we want to ensure this is a productive and positive environment for students. If you have any questions about SHH please reach out to Mrs. Batka, Ms. Brummel, Mrs. Gonzalez, & Mr. Vale.
It's not too early to start planning for your summer! D303 has a variety of course options and summer camps. Keep checking back as more camps will be added!

James and the Giant Peach Jr.
This adaptation of the classic novel by Roald Dahl follows the story of a boy named James as he embarks on an epic adventure in…a giant peach. James, neglected and mistreated by his aunts, is ordered to cut down the old fruit tree. Inside, he finds a magical potion that creates a gigantic peach. Leaving his gloomy life behind, James sets out on the ocean inside the peach. Inside, he meets a charming and quirky group of insects, and they all go together on a journey of danger, excitement, and self-discovery. From the mind that gave the world Matilda and Willy Wonka comes this story of friendship, courage, and believing in yourself.
