Brief Message From the Principal
Hello Hansen Community!
As we conclude the first semester, I want to take a moment to thank all of our families for their unwavering support. Your involvement and encouragement play a vital role in helping our students achieve success both in and out of the classroom.
This semester has been one of growth, learning, and positive progress, and it wouldnβt be possible without the partnership we share as a school community. As we look forward to the second half of the year, Iβm excited to continue building on this foundation together. Thank you for your commitment to making our school a place where every student can thrive!

π Finals Information
At the end of each semester, students in grades 9 through 12 will take a final exam for every class. Final exams count for 10% of the semester grade. Students may be eligible for exemption from their final exams by meeting specific criteria as listed below.
- Students with a grade of an βAβ (90%) or above and no more than 3 absences.
- Absences include all missed days, excused and unexcused.
- School field trips, athletic events, extracurricular school excused events, and college visits do not count towards the absences.
- Students do have the option to take the final exam to improve their grade if desired. If a student chooses to take the exam, grading practices set forth will be followed, and the final exam will count for 10% of the studentβs final grade.
Students in grades 7 and 8 will have an end of unit project or test in all of their classes. They will follow the same bell schedule as the high school students on the days of finals.
According to policy 3050, students must be in attendance in each classroom 90% of the time. Students that miss more than 7 days per semester will need to go through an attendance appeals process to be granted credit. The process has changed this year. Instead of students/parents writing a letter and waiting to hear a decision, a meeting will be scheduled with the principal as well as the school counselor to discuss requirements that must be met for the student to possibly earn the credit for the course(s). To help students be more aware, the principal has stopped into all classrooms and reviewed the importance of the policy. The front office is also reviewing attendance every other day and scheduling meetings. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact to the school.
A copy of the Finals schedule has been posted as the schedule is different the last week of school.
