In a remote, semi-mythical corner of rural Spain of the 1930's, two families are bound in an unbreakable cycle of vengeance and desire. At its heart, a forbidden love triangle drives the story toward an inevitable, tragic end. Following the marriage between the children of wealthy landowners, Leonardo, a tormented past lover, trapped in a loveless union, runs off with the bride. She follows him willingly into the night, setting off a furious chase through the darkened wilderness. As two marriages are ripped apart, the entire town hunts them. The moon offers no guidance and the forest provides no refuge.
