Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Our theme, "Life is Your Journey, S.O.A.R. on a Healthy Course," will emphasize healthy choices, staying positive, and setting goals. We will focus on our S.O.A.R. matrix and "color" each day according to the matrix. Be sure to check out the colors for each day to help us remember how the matrix can help us S.O.A.R. on a healthy course in life!

The FRIENDS of SIES are pleased to announce the winner of this year's Directory Cover Art Contest......Cameron Lane, 5L! We received so many incredible entries this year....it was definitely a difficult decision.

In addition to the cover winner, grade band winners were also selected. Check out the winning entries below! Directories should be delivered within the next two weeks. Thanks!

We are in need of 300 pumpkins to set up a pumpkin patch at our sister school, North Charleston Elementary School. This is an annual event that our PTA coordinates and brings joy to many!

If you are able to donate any small "pie" pumpkins, feel free to bring them to school from October 21st - October 25th. Our PTA volunteers will go to NCES on October 31st to create a pumpkin patch for their students to "pick" a pumpkin.

All pie pumpkins can be turned into the plastic bins that will be placed right inside the front doors.

Come join us on Thursday, October 24th from 4-8 pm for our SIES Spirit Night at the Mex 1 on Sullivan's Island! Dine in or take out....the choice is yours! A portion of the proceeds for the night will be given directly back to the SIES PTA to sponsor events for our students and families. We hope to see you there!

Were you unable to attend our last Math Parent Help Sessions? No worries! We are going to repeat these sessions later in October.

Please note that there are two different dates. The first day, October 22nd, is geared towards K-2 parents, while our second day, October 24th, is geared towards 3-5 parents. Be sure to register below to claim your spot. An RSVP is required.

We will have our Fall Classroom Parties on Thursday, October 31st from 1 - 1:45 pm. Doors to the school will open at 12:50 pm. Parents are invited to attend this party.

Please be aware of the following guidelines:

• No younger or older siblings are permitted.
• Please DO NOT exceed two adults per student. Classroom space and parking is limited. We want the students to have enough room in their classrooms to enjoy the party.

Celebrate the season with us at our Fall Festival, a perfect event for families and friends to enjoy together! We have an afternoon packed with exciting activities, tasty treats, and festive fun for all ages.

• Location: Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC
• Trunk or Treat: Dress up in your favorite costumes and trick-or-treat from car to car, where decorated trunks will be filled with candy and surprises!
• Dunk Tank: Take a turn at the dunk tank! Will you be the one to dunk your favorite teacher, friend, spouse or kids?
• Games & Prizes: Test your skills with a variety of carnival games! From ring toss to putt-putt, we have something for everyone. Win exciting prizes as you play!
• Delicious Fall Treats: Satisfy your sweet tooth with popcorn, cotton candy, and our famous funnel cakes! These tasty treats are the perfect way to enjoy the flavors of fall.

On October 26th, the Isle of Palms Recreation Center will host a Halloween Golf Cart Parade and Carnival from 4-6 pm. Participants can register for the golf cart parade by clicking the link below or visiting www.iop.net. The top three decorated golf carts will receive prizes!
