Student safety is our priority. As reminders:

• Please do not drop students off before 7:15 am as we do not have staff on duty.
• When utilizing the drop-off line, please pull all the way forward (to the stop sign) as this allows many students to be dropped quickly.
• Do not drop students off in the parking lot to cross the traffic unaccompanied.
• Please be sure students and staff are moved away from cars before pulling away.
• Students should exit the passenger side (curbside) of the car.

Bertram's ADA for was 92.42.

ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance and is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able.

• Did you know that just 2 absences in a Six Weeks can mean YOUR child is CHRONICALLY ABSENT?
• Do you know the research about Chronically Absent student performance?
• Did you know that when Absences ADD UP this one statistic can contribute to below grade-level achievement and increase in social emotional anxiety for students?
• Attendance matters and absences add up! Make every day count.

We will celebrate Donkey Day on Monday, February 3rd. For those new to Bertram, Donkey Day is our local take on Groundhog Day. Depending on which oats Pawnee eats, we will either have 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring. At the end of Donkey Day, students will have the chance to pet the donkey. If you do not want your child to touch the donkey, please communicate with their teacher by Thursday, January 30th.

At the same assembly we will also celebrate the 100th Day of School! Teachers will communicate whether they are doing anything for their class or grade level to celebrate being 100 days smarter!

Our Kindness Day parties will be on Thursday, February 13th. Parents are invited and will need to check in at the office with the event ticket that will be sent home the week prior. Family members arriving without an event ticket will need to check in at the office with photo ID.

• Who can submit a Staff Shout Out? Students, parents, teachers, auxiliary staff, coworkers, and all community members. Anyone can submit a Staff Shout Out!
• Who can receive a Staff Shout Out? Any employee of Burnet CISD. EVERY staff member is an important part of our team!
