Principal's Message
Thomas Families,
This week was all about Bus Safety. We practiced bus evacuation (in case of an emergency) and students in kindergarten through third grade visited buses and learned about proper bus behavior.
I don’t know about you, but I am in awe of the skills our bus drivers have. It’s hard enough for me to drive my minivan with two school aged children (my own!) in the backseat…imagine a 35 foot long bus with 50 students on it! In case you’re wondering the name of your child’s bus driver, I’ve listed them below. They love to get to know the kids and families!
Bus 31: Ms. Holly
Bus 47: Ms. DJ
Bus 53: Mr. Mike
Bus 54: Ms. Karen
Bus 59: Mr. Doug
Bus 61: Ms. Susan
Bus 111: Ms. Connie
Bus 127: Ms. Darby
Bus 132: Ms. Kascee
Bus 134: Ms. Lisa
Bus 136: Mr. Rick and Ms. TIna
Go Tigers,
Melissa Garris
School News
NO SCHOOL MONDAY
School will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. We’ll see you on Tuesday!
SCHOOL STORE
Beginning Friday, September 6, the Thomas Elementary School Store will be open for business!
When students finish eating lunch, they may choose to purchase an item from the school store. They can buy items like mechanical pencils, stickers, keychains, and more! The cost of items range from just a few cents to one dollar. Please limit the amount your child brings in to spend each week to under $5.
Thank you to the PTO for managing the school store and giving our students this opportunity.
CLINIC SEEKING CLOTHING
Maybe your child has benefitted from this: sometimes in our clinic, we provide students with a change of clothing for a variety of reasons (spilled milk, wet slide, bathroom accident, etc.). Our supply is running low! If your family has any of these items that you’d be willing to donate, we would be very grateful.
New girls underwear, sizes 10 and 12
New or good condition used: leggings sizes 12-16

CAR RIDER LINE
Do you pick up your child from school in the afternoon? Then this message is for you! In order to have a safe and efficient car rider line, please follow these guidelines:
Pull up as far as you can before stopping to load your child.
Adults always stay in the car. Staff members can assist your child if they need it.
Students should only load on the passenger side, to avoid walking around the car. That might mean car seats need to be rearranged.
Thank you for doing your part to make the car rider line a smooth process!
