Alaska Native Cultural Charter
Quarter 1 Student Showcase
Waqaa ANCCS families,
Quyana to everyone who joined us for parent-teacher conferences last week! Parent-teacher conferences allow us to partner together to support your student's social, emotional, and academic development.
As we embark on quarter 2, we want to take a moment to celebrate all of the incredible growth and learning our students have achieved throughout quarter 1!
Every day at ANCCS is an opportunity for students to become rooted in cultural learning, engage in academic exploration, and collaborate with their peers and teachers. Over the first nine weeks of school, our students have explored elements of yuuyaraq related to knowing who you are and working hard to survive, formed meaningful connections with their class communities, and developed lifelong learning skills through literacy and math instruction.
Please enjoy the below newsletter to see a glimpse into the learning that occurred in each classroom. Each teacher has selected a project or activity to showcase to celebrate their students' learning.
As we move through quarter two, we encourage you to continue engaging with your student about their learning experiences. Regular conversations about school help reinforce the importance of their education and allow students to reflect on their learning and achievements. We hope that our students are as proud of themselves as we are of them.
